What a shame the 20 team Premier Division decision happened in April/May and the IMG didn't become a thing until months later.

True but there were still people in charge of the WoSFL project at that point before the current encumbents. It's old news but responsibility for a horrible decision is still a thing.

Yeah, so you would have been happy with the SFA just forcing through the 2019-20 West Premiership becoming the 2020-21 West Premier Division without changes?

Immaterial what would have made me happy. A 20 club league was idiocy. That's all.

Legal proceedings!!!

You mean the WoSFL leaderships arses collapsed.

As I have said, clubs were asked there opinion on should the 3 clubs be promoted the overwhelming majority said yes.

Does it really matter now, surely we have moved on

Most have moved on but some people find it harder than others to adjust to clubs having a say in the running of their league.

Sour grapes ? Let's forget last season's chaotic ending - was never gonna please everyone. Moving forward, (license permitting)  all champions go up automatically, then hopefully 21/22 will be close to normal again. The new WOSFL should be part run by the clubs, or at least have a say in how it's run by those above. Always thought the Juniors were a tight knitted bunch, got my doubts sometimes. Fans back by January my guess.

The only outstanding piece of work required for licence is floodlights, they should be complete by February’s deadline. All other works have been carried over the last two seasons.

We have already submitted our license application, and are going through the various stages just now.

That won’t mean we will win league, there are many top teams left in it. We are just happy to be in the premier division. And we got there without legal proceedings, as I’ve said before the clubs voted that the 3 championship clubs should get promoted

Serious question.  What is the minimum pitch size for the SPFL pyramid?

I wonder, does anyone know who has the smallest pitch in the senior teams right now?

There are teams like Shotts and Vale of Leven that could host cricket, never mind football, but surely there are pitches in the WoSL that could not be suitable for the SPFL, never mind trying to fit technical areas around them with the (presumed) required distances between pitch and seating? (Even forgetting the 1yard between touchline and technical area start).

Entry Level licence which would be good enough to get up to SPFL League One requires:

Bronze Level licence which is good enough to get all the way to the SPFL Premiership:

Outwith licencing (Tier 6 and below) I don't think there is an official minimum but the likes of EoSFL's entry criteria does stipulate "The playing field shall be in compliance with the laws of the game and must be a minimum of 90m in length and 56m in width" so they look to apply the minimum required by Entry level licencing as well.

Its believed Ashfield would struggle on this criteria due to the way things played out with BSC Glasgow. They had originally been accepted to the Lowland League with Ashfield's ground as their home field, but never actually played there as they quickly moved to Maryhill. The belief being that the speedway at Ashfield would make it unsuitable for licencing standards.

Berwick's Shiefield Park is used by the Berwick Bandits speedway team. Granted it may be the case Berwick Rangers get an exemption on historical grounds.

I remember there being a mention that Berwick's pitch is larger as they've had more say on those matters. On ground criteria they meet Bronze for their licence. Wikipedia lists Shielfield's dimensions 100 x 70 yards.

EDIT: Blurb from Ashfield's NLS page http://nonleaguescotland.org.uk/ashfield.htm

Entry to the ground is through the bar area. You even pay your admission to the bar staff. Beside the main stand is a terraced enclosure. Opposite the stand is a section of terracing with crush barriers. The actual pitch is very narrow, measuring exactly 50 yards. It was narrowed to accommodate the wide corners of the speedway track that replaced the previous dogtrack. The Peugeot Ashfield Stadium is also used by the Glasgow Tigers speedway team.

Unless the imagery has been changed Google Maps has Ashfield as ~49m at the halfway line and 54m if you go to the edge of the speedway track, but that's still not enough. https://goo.gl/maps/SpcedibTgumxNKZY9

Central Park is 95x60m, while Shielfield is 100x58m. Darvel will need to extend their pitch by a couple of metres in each direction if they want to get to the Championship :P

What size is Darvel’s pitch?
