It's not inconsistency though, it's a rule change. That's only to be expected as the conditions change. Hence the increase in levels as numbers go up.

Sorry I worded my reply wrongly It’s not actually a rule change though there has been no clarification of it and why track and trace are saying different things to different teams.

Think you’ll find that a lot of clubs are not following the guidelines to the letter.

When questioned by Test and Trace they find out that their travelling 4 / 5 in  a car and are getting change close to each other when you put all this evidence together And with numbers of infections showing no sign of declining so T&T are erroring on the side of caution.

Only solution is stop this madness until we eradicate this virus

Exactly when it first started up with contact training etc we had a positive test. The player had trained twice that week due to being outside nobody other than the two who travelled to Training with the positive player had to isolate. Now in the Fife league we are seeing track and trace contact and isolate anyone in the red zone (players and ref )meaning boys are getting threatened with their jobs if continue to play
Football . It’s the inconsistency that’s frustrating for everyone as the rules have changed once the season started.

And now that the league have shown with yoker that you will lose the 3pts teams will be telling players not to tell if they have confirmed cases to track and trace . So they dont need to forfeit the game and lose the 3pts .

If only!

The best chance seems to be controlling the virus, as far as possible. Part of that would mean vaccination but, like flu, it may be an annual vaccination because the virus mutates, and is already doing so.

The American vaccines need two jabs before they work so that seems to me to be a problem when your dealing with tens of millions of people. If the UK has bought 40 million doses of the Pfizer vaccine it means that this will cover 20 million people. It also means that it slows down the whole vaccination process i.e. if only one dose was needed per person then you could deal with 40 million people in the same time period as you can for either of the two American vaccines. They don't sound much use to me. We need a vaccine which only needs one jab per person.

The other thing is that the two American vaccines haven't any idea, yet, as to whether they will help the elderly, Because the virus hits the elderly hardest this is a bit of a f..k up it seems to me.

I thought the issue with Yoker is they tried to get players to self isolate WITHOUT T&T telling them to. You have to play the game unless a significant number are asked to self-isolate by T&T and Yoker tried to get the game put off without this official contact and order having being made.

The problem is T&T is glacial and it doesn't work with football matches that have a specific date. Yoker did right by the health of their players but that doesn't fit with the rules which i guess are there for reasons of integrity as unfortunately games have been put off in the past by clubs for dodgy reasons - lost crossbars, flooded pitches, misplaced keys to dressing rooms etc.... being 'at it' due to covid is completely feasible and it's unfortunate Yoker got caught out by the letter of the law here.

How is your club managing?

What happened with Yoker might not apply to the vast majority of clubs. Going by what they said clubs are allowed a COVID related postponement if they have proof of a minimum 7 players that have either tested positive, waiting on results on tests or asked to self isolate by T&T.

Yoker didn't have that at the time as they only found out about the first positive case on the Friday which seems to have led to two other players getting tested and so were in isolation until getting their results. Yoker decided to call off the game awaiting further guidance from T&T. The fact they were playing again on the 14th suggests no further action was taken by T&T whenever that feedback came through.

Bending the rules to suit themselves the same as the majority of “professional “ clubs in the devision  that they play in

Which other clubs do you know of that have followed the same route as your club?

Every club in the leagues are setting their own interpretations of the guidelines.

For example saying that have a media team and press officer to get games online is just flouting the rules and making a mockery of the situation. Most teams have trouble filling committee posts at the best of times now committee men are coming out the woodwork just to get into games.

From Friday it will be illegal for me to travel the 5 miles to Wishaw because it’s in North Lanarkshire but the boy 2 doors up from me who works in Tesco’s Monday to Friday but miraculously becomes a professional footballer player on a Saturday and can travel all over the West of Scotland.

Fucking joke time people got real with what is going on

Maybe because they're being told different things by different teams/players?

But what's going on is a second spike of covid caused by kids going to school, students to Colleges and Universities and others socialising indoors. That does not rule out covid catching people other ways but it has been what has driven the virus.

It's difficult to swallow, OK, but we have to deal with what has really happened.

Agreed

But during this tier 4 lockdown the WoSFL should show some leadership and shut the leagues down until 12th December

Just observing things at the games I'd seen, and what the English FA advised : car sharing, all wear masks, all windows to be opened. Players within 1m for 15 minutes. No dressing rooms etc. Not a load of cases until lockdown - no surprise. However I'd seen complete teams up close in the clubhouse, drinking as per normal - celebrating goals, huddles etc (against guidelines)  and the fans not distancing or wearing masks.

It’s no different to what happens outside football.

You have people following the guidelines to the letter and others who are not bothering their arses.

Some clubs are and some aren’t.

I happened to be passing a local WOSFL game recently and out of curiosity looked through the fence. It was just about half time and I roughly counted 40 odd people watching the game mostly congregated in a small area with no masks. Maybe they were all Committee men but I doubt it.

One team stayed on the park at half time and the other went into the dressing rooms.

Im sure this is being repeated all over the country at every level and Im sure the Govt advisors will also be aware hence no real desire in Scotland at least to loosen restrictions.
