Anymore clubs pulled the plug on the season now ? Really think that we've  just got to crack on with the season now, see how far we can get. Expect some p-p games, covid p-p, but hopefully the fans can return in January, limited numbers of course, gives the clubs a chance at least. Good to see the results coming through, disappointed that some fans still turn up to watch though. Idiotic and selfish.

Old news on this thread two days ago.

No further teams have withdrawn, so we proceed now with 48 out of the original 67 teams committed to playing the season.

And should anyone drop out (Premier league exceptions allowed) they will be beaten to death on cup final day and the £250 bond split amongst the WoSFL leadership.

The same punishments apply to the Premier Division teams and any bond will just go into the running of the league.

Like to see them try that with a Darvel with a possible lockdown coming this week.

Digby Brown would at the secretary's door before you could say Beltrami.

The main changes on moving from level 3 to level 4 where lockdown regulations are concerned are that non-essential shops, hospitality and gyms close. For many people that makes little practical difference from what is already happening and it's difficult to see what the relevance is to this thread given professional football remains exempt from restrictions even at level 4.

Beyond that angle, schools stay open and most workplaces remain open to the same extent as before, so level 4 isn't a move back to late March and April. There's no level 5 in place for what to do after that, which means there is no obvious scenario under which the WoS season would be ended at this point. The SNP seem to be downplaying the idea that level 4 is inevitable and seem upbeat about having a vaccine before Christmas:

Level 0 is the scenario that has been designed for a post-vaccine introduction environment, so if the Pfizer vaccine unfolds as hoped there appears to be an obvious pathway to crowds being back before the end of the season if that optimistic timeline on first vaccine arrival proves to be accurate.

The only rule change that should happen is the clubs that pull out get put in tier 7/8 and the conference winners get promoted.

Effectively happens for those that withdraw from now on with the 12 point deduction in 2021-22. With 7 teams getting relegated from the Premier next year a 12 point deduction would incredibly difficult to get out of the relegation zone.

For a Conference team in 2021-22 it should rule out a Conference championship and the cut off for making the WoS First Division would be a tricky target to achieve.

Wishful thinking

So there has been an under 16’s game cancelled this weekend and all the boys have had to isolate because a positive test came back from a team they played the previous weekend, is this the same set of protocols for WOSL teams?

It’s the same in the ammies league. There is over 60 players having to isolate from the Fife leagues just now. This wasn’t the original protocol though when the leagues were started. My local team had a positive test early on and only the two who travelled with him had to isolate.

Wow, it does seem a bit over the top when there is no use of indoor facilities, there will be no player within 1metre of another for 15 mins let alone a whole team.

Exactly when it first started up with contact training etc we had a positive test. The player had trained twice that week due to being outside nobody other than the two who travelled to Training with the positive player had to isolate. Now in the Fife league we are seeing track and trace contact and isolate anyone in the red zone (players and ref )meaning boys are getting threatened with their jobs if continue to play

Football . It’s the inconsistency that’s frustrating for everyone as the rules have changed once the season started.

It's not inconsistency though, it's a rule change. That's only to be expected as the conditions change. Hence the increase in levels as numbers go up.
