Clearly stated when asked - multiple times - that our sources were not from any of the leagues.

So puts that one to bed.

Edit - Also made it clear that it was not official.

Made up and been made to look like eejits

I spoke to one of the medda players, they have agreed to play for free, players can claim travelling expenses.

Surely the teams not playing in league will struggle to keep players for next year ? If they do keep players they will have went a year with no games ? Do the 14 teams  play pointless friendlies against each other every week ? Surely players will either go to teams still playing or just stop playing ?

If it’s all about player welfare can’t see how playing friendlies would be the right thing to do 🤷🏻‍♂️

Everyone is basically playing friendlies

For the teams pulling out- will they retain their squads or will players move on to play for a team this season and then potentially move back at the start of next season whenever that is? I can totally understand teams pulling out but what will the knock on impact be to their squads? I would imagine a lot of boys will end up wanting to play if possible regardless of cash in the short term if it’s not available

The players are million pound question. Very difficult to build a team next season for us.  The team that threatened legal again will be circling.

Can someone tell me why a conf without promotion and a premier without relegation and possible promotion is worthwhile?

The major difference? Scotland has Wee Nicola Thatcher running the show who treats football fans like they are criminals and second class citizens.

There's not been an outbreak anywhere linked to grassroots football. It's next to impossible to pass the virus on outside.

Away and gtf with that "Wee Nicola Thatcher" pish.  She's not singling out football fans, ffs.  Get a grip.  And she's not acting alone.  She's acting as part of a democratically elected government, you fud.

The overarching reason is trying to avoid people travelling, congregating in one place when it's not essential.  Amateur/non-league football is not essential. The end.

Only  team that would be promoted would be conference  league winner? If they don't gat promoted they still have a league title, players get recognition.

Auchinleck Talbot have won numerous league titles over the last forty years with no promotion, were all those games glorified friendlies?

Completely different when you can’t move up. Win league and best at that level. Conference teams aren’t giving opportunity to progress

And what teams are going to have money to pay these players.

Teams that are going to play on have already signed their squads and have players with contracts how are they going to fund signing new ones

A big shift over to the pyramid was all about promotion. Without that it's nothing.

Those who are 'in' are probably loving the fact that the big boys have chosen the welfare of their players and club over rassling about the country in soaking kit, as they now have more of a chance of going up...after they get a lawyer lined up.

I can imagine a few teams will be wanting to push for the promotion to LL if available and if they can get funding from somewhere to pay wages there will be plenty top league players available just now given the teams withdrawing
