It's more that they would rather play than not play. If there are no fans, that's disappointing but not the end of the world. Would this be expensive to set up and run ? Announce games are sold out , most sensible folk wouldn't turn up. That's the sticking point, like telling fans not to travel overseas, but they still turn up. Non league is an excellent place to try new measures in small crowds, Holm Park can easily hold around 1500 people, there is no reason why Clydebank for example couldnt sell up to 300 tickets for home fans with online or season ticket only access. This could be done quite easily for track and trace, no food sold in the ground and adequate social distancing on the terraces, yes imo there would need to be portable urinals And portaloos brought in and an entry/exit strategy, however, small clubs are crafty, they’ve been fighting for survival for years, if there is any type of club who would find a way to make this work its a non league club. Not every player can drive and and rely on team mates for transport to and from games The issue of changing and showering has not been fully resolved as well, I don’t think you can expect players to turn up and hour before the game in the pissing rain and gale force winds or worse snowing warm up and not have the opportunity to dry off and changeout of training kit and into dry playing kit. I know this as having had to deal with her through work and having friends and family who lived in her community. In any case this is not political it is a public health issue. The government are not going to go against the experts that are advising them. What happens if we get a very cold and wet October or even worse if it continues into november and we get a day like we had up at neilston for the scottish cup game. You cant ask players to go straight home soaking wet and freezing cold .
