Could not be as simple as getting a couple of extra portacabins in for extra changing facilities and hospitality?

There is a million different ways to get round the changing room issue. Hospitality cabins can operate like every other shop in the country. We should be back at football, the government are preventing nothing delaying restart to mid October.

Running costs aren't as much of an issue for most junior clubs at the moment, when compared to the senior teams. Run by volunteers so no need to worry about paying staff to allow things to keep ticking over while play is suspended. Most clubs also either own their ground or rent a facility from another club or the council, money they won't be paying while they aren't using it. Some clubs also received small business grants of thousands.

In terms of wages, most clubs were able to take advantage of the furlough scheme and are under no obligation to top up the remaining 20%, meaning their outgoings aren't massive right now. That will obviously change in the event of playing behind closed doors, which is of course, not viable at this level.

Obviously I'm well aware that plenty of clubs will be struggling, but like every sector of the economy right now, the full scale of the damage won't be apparent until the furlough scheme ends.

I believe the amount of clubs using the furlough scheme is remarkably low.

"If the virus allows, from 14th September, outdoor sports events with spectators of limited numbers could take place; with certain events before then taking place as test events." - Nicola Sturgeon

James Anderson grant paying for it mate

Your deluding yourself if you think that money is going to be used to test league 2 players Testing will never be done at that level and certainly not down to any lower levels. The risk is greatly reduced outdoors and there will be procedures put in place for the stripping and washing requirements of players and despite all the doomsters lower league /grassroots football will start There will always be the chance it will be shutdown again if numbers spike but that’s no different whether we start in October or January

‘It is planned that live events such as concerts and comedy will be allowed outdoors from 24 August, with physical distancing, enhanced hygiene and restricted audience numbers.
It is hoped that organised outdoor contact sports can resume for people of all ages on the same date’
Nicola Sturgeon at FM questions Think this will mean contact training resuming?

Think the events in England yesterday, with the lockdown restrictions coming back in, in the Greater Manchester area is perhaps a salutary lesson for us all. Slow and steady has to be the way, not the bish, bash, bosh idiocy from Westminster. If it means another month or two to get it back safely then let's just put our aspirations on hold for a wee while longer. Would much rather see it come back with a genuine chance of it being successful in the long term. Think stop and start could be the death knell for some clubs.

Think the biggest problem is keeping it out of Scotland when borders are open and planes coming in and out

Depends where the planes are coming from and how it’s dealt with at border control.

hear there are a good number of clubs have not completed the survey that had an end of July deadline.
There are some thoughts that this could delay the restart.
Some clubs have been unable to return the survey as they play at council-owned facilities which are currently still closed.

I don't know the ins and outs of the survey but surely most committees know their ground well enough to give an accurate maximum attendance figure for socially distanced games. Even standing outside your ground and going to your games every second week for many years you should be able to complete it unless wanting 100% accuracy?
