Just seen it announced there will be no fans allowed in for the Scot Cup Final. What work is actually getting done to Hampden for the Euros?

Could there be the opportunity to let us in for our final home game as some sort of test event?

The SFA don't want us!

There is no way they would give us anything.

Our final home game at Hampden has already taken place. The club are just hoping that's not the case but the reality is the SFA have no intention of letting us have a "farewell game" there with fans. It would take a massive shift among  the main influencers on their board for that to change and I can't see it.

As for work on the place for the Euros, UEFA take over the ground a month in advance to set up all their shite in and around the ground, like their own branding, sponsors /advertising logos, tarting up the concourses, hospitality lounges, media centres, getting the pitch sorted ( possibly re-laid) numerous security checks. They did the exact same before the European Cup final in 2002 and UEFA Cup Final in 2007

When the Women’s Under 19 European matches were held at Forthbank, UEFA insisted the Groundsman narrow the goal line by 0.1 of an inch because it was that much wider than the post.

It was a two week period for the Champions League and UEFA finals, hence why we were able to play the home leg of play off semi final at Hampden in 2007 but not the home leg of the final.

Agree with you about the SFA, they have been trying to get us out of Hampden since the day they took it over, having finally achieved it I struggle to see them letting us back in, even just for one game.

Our committee’s opening gambit was keep the status quo. The SFA must be pissing themselves laughing at the moment.

I was discussing the passing of Phil the Greek with a workmate today and he revealed that the future George VI met his great uncle (who played for Bathgate FC ) before a Scottish Cup tie against QP at Hampden in the 1920s.

Staunch Spiders!

I believe there is Pathe newsreel footage of the visit.

27th January 1923, match finished 1-1 with Queen's winning the replay 2-0 at Bathgate the following Wednesday:

Picture shows captain Robert Gillespie introducing the Queen's team, with keeper James Newton shaking hands.

Pathe footage is here: https://reuters.screenocean.com/record/248533

There is also a signed picture of the Queen somewhere in the Lesser pavillion, which I think is from the visit she made to Hampden as part of her Silver Jubilee celebrations in 1977.

The royalist in this 85 year old football fan would like to think that this photo  is hanging in our Boardroom.

Indeed

I was asked to loan them a framed photo to put up in the old social club.  It was an aerial shot of Hampden at the 2002 European Cup final that I won in a charity raffle at a club dinner. It wasn't put back up when we moved to the new club and apparently nobody knows where it is now.

I must check that skip.

To late Mike. I visited my sister who lives in Sommerville Drive on Monday and could not see a skip anywhere.

Careful old fruit. Wouldn’t want our mysterious benefactor, who contributed £1.6m to Gordon Brown’s war crimes party and then luckily became a Knight of the Realm and just a few months later a Member of the House of Lords, getting offended.

My minutes silence will be to remember Dodi, Di, Henri Paul and the young boys in Borneo.

Looking at the post split fixture list, if ourselves and Falkirk finish first they have already said our first game would be on the Friday night.

Not clear what happens on Thursday 29th when ourselves, Falkirk and Stenny (if they finish 5th or 6th) would be at home

Hopefully the club announce a venue soon so that we can rule it out.

Airdrie or Partick the likely suspects?

Would we not just play at Falkirk on 2 consecutive Friday evenings if both Falkirk and ourselves are top at the split?
