If you look at it on the basis of... no matter how much you consider your next manager, odds are it’s not going to work out!

Then why wouldn’t you give the job to one of the few guys who has been a success, lives down the road and is available?

I don’t care that Levein was shite at Hearts. There’s very few managers in the history of the game who haven’t been shite somewhere.

I’d wager there’s more of a chance of him being a success than any other candidate we could bring in.

From that list I’d like Wright, but I don’t think it’ll happen for a few reasons. Other than that I’d be interested in seeing what Dailly would have to offer - he always came across well, but it would be a hell of a gamble. Other than that... ooofff. I could see us stepping off the usual Scottish managerial merry go round for this one, and if that list of managers is anything to go by then I kind of hope we do.

Leave in didn’t suddenly become a bad manger when he took the Scotland gig - he just wasn’t suited to that role.
