Coventry Saint
Seeing clubs - any clubs - signing players feels lovely and normal. I don't just mean against the context of the Hearts fiasco; in terms of the world generally. I really hope this thread gets busy now.
djchapsticks
Yeah. I get a wee reassured feeling any time I see a club making a move for a player.
RandomGuy.
Hamilton's signing of Callum Smith means half of the top flight have now signed at least one player this Summer.
Ray Patterson
@RandomGuy. Stephen O'Donnell wasn't released, he rejected a contract extension.

I just put released down for anyone who left at the end of their contract, and then free transfer for everyone who signed for another club while out of contract.

Derry Alli
Why did he leave Motherwell? Is he a bit gubbed?

craigkillie
Yes, but if Motherwell wanted to keep him he would have still been there and not at St Mirren, so the question holds.

Would have been happy enough to see him stay at FP as backup, but seems to have lost the little speed he had and was never going to be first pick in front of Grimshaw or Carroll. On 18/06/2020 at 20:28, Ron Aldo said: Tait will be a very good signing for you lot. Can't really add much to what other 'Well fans have said. He seemed to lose what little pace he had but he's defensively solid and will always put in 100%. Goals were never part of his game but I would bet my mortgage that he'll score against us next season. On 18/06/2020 at 22:03, capt_oats said: If you give Tait's IG a follow you'll get an idea of what he's about. He fucking loves his CrossFit and I'm fairly sure he has a side gig as a PT at a gym in Hamilton. As others have said he signed for us as a RB but ended up playing LB post-Hammell and his versatility also meant we were able to get Cadden in the side at RWB. While that gave us a bit of balance it also coincided with the assists that had initially been a big part of Tait's game drying up - which is actually quite annoying as he's got a smashing delivery with his left and right. He picked up an injury in his first season that kept him out from February until the end of the season. After that though he had 46 apps in 17/18 and 45 in 18/19. As @crazylegsjoe_mfc says above last season Grimshaw and Carroll made the RB and LB positions their own and Tait was down to 20 appearances so while most of us would have been more than happy for him to stick around if you guys are offering 1st team football and a 2 year deal it's no real surprise to see him take that offer.
