Playing to an empty park...noise suggestions and commentary questions

Recommended Posts

So, as we’ve seen from the Bundesliga, when playing in front of an empty stadium, you can clearly hear the players. If we have live streamed games, what will the plan be to avoid the obvious potential for somewhat colourful language to be transmitted? Granted, we have on more than a few occasions heard some commentary from the crowd that was equally an issue, but surely something will need to be done.

To a certain extent, I guess it would depend on the commentary available. On that topic, has there been any clarification on how commentary would be handled if the games were live-streamed? I know that having to listen to something like that Falkirk TV crew would drive visiting team supporter to (more) drink, and while other teams crews might be less biased, certainly it wouldn’t be a neutral broadcast.

So, what’s the answer. The problem with generic crowd noise, is, let’s face it, we look away now and then and rely on the crowd reactions to cue us into look back at the action.

Eastend can just use canned laughter available from any US sitcom.

The Raith TV team need look no further than the Partick Challenge Cup match for our matches next season. The excellent backing from the Rovers fans can be used as a default while, if things start to go wrong and we find ourselves slipping to all too familiar home defeats by Arbroath and Alloa, we can simply use the first rate booing provided by the Partick fans that night.

Unfair advantage for teams like Queens and raith rovers who are used to playing in empty stadiums.

That's funny I was just thinking the same about the Pars, they been playing to a vast number of imaginary fans for years.

"No no really there were 5000 there!!"

I think we’ve proved on many occasions we’re capable of providing our own booing, any game from the Gary Locke and Yogi Hughes season should provide ample booing.

Tynecastle will reverberate to the furious pencil-on-paper scribblings from the back of the stand of Hearts' next director of football, Craig Levein, writing instructional notes for whichever manager is in the dugout that month.
