There was many versions of the fixtures created based on start dates, feasibility completion etc. 16 games allows wee bit wiggle room for rearranged fixtures. Dads worked so bloody hard throughout to get league started in some form.
Jimmy Shaker
Charlie Rowley and The Forres Mechanics All-Stars won't be taking part in the 2020/21 season. Your move, Houston!

HibeeJibee
If only Forres throw in the towel it could actually help (logistically-speaking)... 16 clubs only takes 15 dates instead of 17, means no-one has a week off, plus is the perfect number for League Cup whether 4 groups of 4 > (QFs) > SFs or straight knockout. Previous plan for LC was 2 groups of 6 and 1 group of 5 and involved "best runner-up" qualifying for knockouts/etc. IIRC Edited November 9, 2020 by HibeeJibee
Andy groundhopper
Guess that Forres are doing this for the right reasons, and to protect their survival, but hopefully the league will get going - with fans - so at least the clubs will get some income etc. Getting the games done should be workable, weather permitting as usual. Will promotion and relegation be of the same numbers ?
Jimmy Shaker
Promotion and relegation to and from where? I imagine there's a few clubs looking at their Scottish Cup draws wondering if they've made the right call.
HibeeJibee
Aberdeenshire Cup has been patched into gap between now and HL starting on November 28th. R1 ties this Saturday and following Tuesday... R2 ties next Saturday and following Wednesday.

So the champions won't be in any play offs, whilst the bottom side stays up, that's all I asked coz I wasn't sure.
Jimmy Shaker
Nothing was decided about relegation that I know of. Promotion into SPFLL2, well. We'll see about that, won't we.
MrMartinBlack9
Be interesting to find out what the stance on allowing away fans is. Know the Aberdeenshire clubs have to play behind closed doors if they’re still in Level 2, but it’d be great to finally go to Fort William away, speaking as a Brora fan.
Northboy
With the start date (hopefully) approaching how do people feel the 20/21 season will go? Based on last season's showing and the fact they've had the experience of a run of games already in the League Cup then Brora would look the most likely winners but this is no ordinary season. The curtailed fixture list could well come into play - the chances would seem better for an outsider to win the league over 1/2 the games rather than the full season. A lot has been said about how teams will adapt to playing behind closed doors but preparation/training under COVID restrictions could be as big a factor. Even if we get started will we make it to the end?
welshbairn
It won't happen BCD, otherwise they would have already started.
Andy groundhopper
BCD ? I thought that some fans were allowed into the games ? Always thought that local fans who live in the tier area, could go to games, if sufficiently masked and distanced. Unless you have to provide I.D etc, how can you prove who's home or away fans, being my only concern. Hopefully the League gets up and running.

It's still banned for the NCL, no word as yet for the Highland League. Sensible approach would be to make it season tickets only imo, as a last resort. I suspect it's more the SFA not bothering their arses about the lower leagues then the Government, the official word is that limited spectators are permitted at level 1, nobody will define what that means though, and the SFA are still banning parents watching their kids play. Dev
Is there hope yet of financial help from the UK Government via the SP? From the BBC web site: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/54998979 Interesting to read that the UK Government has allocated "a rescue package of £300m of emergency funding for sports impacted by the absence of spectators because of coronavirus." A breakdown of funding distribution (preliminary figures): Note: The final amount received by each sport/organisation may differ from the amounts set out when final decisions are made by an independent decision-making board, and supported by Sport England. Football: £28m - National League (steps 1-2): £11m; National League (steps 3-6): £14m; Women's Football (Women's Super League and FA Women's Championship): £3m AND: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/scotland/55004568 Scottish government seeks clarity on UK emergency sports funding The Scottish government is seeking "urgent clarification" from its UK counterpart about the amount of funding available for sports. The UK government is to provide £300m of loans and grants for sports in England impacted by the absence of fans because of Covid-19. That money will mean an increase in cash for the devolved governments, who decide how to spend it. The Scottish government welcomed the announcement, but want more detail. "This has been an enormously challenging time for the sport sector and we appreciate the sacrifices made by supporters, clubs and authorities over the past months to help us tackle the virus," a spokesperson said. "We welcome the announcement of a UK government support scheme for sports impacted by the loss of spectators during the pandemic, and will seek urgent clarification on the Barnett consequential funding as a result in order to support the sector in Scotland." The funding in England extends to rugby union and rugby league, as well as horse racing, women's football, motorsport, tennis, netball, basketball, ice hockey, badminton and greyhound racing. Men's football above non-league level is not on the list, but it would be for the Scottish government to decide how to allocate the extra cash in Scotland. The government added it "will continue to work with the [sport] sector to ensure their long-term sustainability". They said: "Sport brings enjoyment to the many people who watch and play, and we don't want supporters to be delayed in returning to stadiums for any longer than is absolutely necessary."
Dev
Fans being allowed back at Brora Rangers with 150 limit at present. Clach seem to be going down the same route.
