Is that what you all do at Cappielow, huddle? Is that why you go?

Social distancing is well under 2 metres radius per person in the Cowshed for any game, yes. We're not weirdo loner types who go to nightclubs on their own and in their 50s like yourself.

Wonder how Greenock Morton will get on financially with no crowds? They are a business and as important to some as their local pub.

We'll get on almost as badly with whatever set of protocols are required to get some but not all fans into games as having no crowds at all and some garbage streaming option instead. The season should just be postponed/binned beneath the top level until the broader restrictions on social gatherings are lifted and clubs should look for government assistance on that basis. Bleating for the government to make a special exception for crowds to be let in after clubs have handed out new contracts and then started a new season behind closed doors is not a strong case for help at all.

Why should the top tier get preferential treatment? Until a vaccine is found, which the population can be persuaded to take, then the only way of stopping it is to shut the world down for a couple of weeks. If there is a will there is a way to manage it. All the outbreaks have been in settings where there has been no or poor management.

It's not preferential treatment - the top flight can operate (just about in Scotland's case) without fans but with a viable TV package/streaming. No other full level of the Scottish game can do that. Until most society-level restrictions are lifted that is the only sensible outcome on the table.

If social distancing is managed properly then there is less chance of a few hundred people spread out in a football ground catching it than a few hundred mingling about in a public park. It all depends on what your priorities are. What is the end game? What happens if we don’t get a viable vaccine for say 20 years,? What happens if they don’t get enough people to accept  a viable vaccine?

Everyone's biggest concern at this point should be getting through the winter before thinking further ahead. The NHS is stretched to capacity every winter anyway - if they have to cope with what we saw in April there will be tragedies. Right now we're at the same death rate as on the day lockdown started, and it's rising rapidly. Cases have doubled every 12 days for 5 weeks.

Let's worry about the next 5 months before discussing theoreticals about the next 20 years.

And fwiw, if we'd all been really strict over the summer we could be going to games now, like they are in Australia, New Zealand and Germany.

Surely the 2m distance and 15 minutes  ruling (grassroots guidelines I think)  allows fans to attend lower level games with crowd limits in place, distanced naturally. Or was this just for players safety ? My apologies for memory loss  😂

one size fits all in scottish footy, apparantly ,so in the meantime we can all expose ourselves to risk at work  while getting nannied unnecessarily in our leisure time

Nah we’re ok, thanks for asking though.

How are the summer drainage works coping with the recent deluges? An unfair test so early though, normal rain is the big one.
