Cameron Salkeld - 5/10

There's a player in there but he just hasn't really settled or shown it. Things would possibly look a lot better for him if he hadn't had goals wrongly disallowed about 7 weeks running at the start of the season and had been able to kick on but as it is, while there are flashes of ability he's not shown many signs of turning that into being an effective player. Happy for him to stay as a squad player and try to develop that though.

Nicky Cadden - 9/10

Our player of the season by a mile, probably the best winger in the division and I hope to god we can keep him. 10 goals from midfield and we're a much better team with him on the park - we'd have stayed in the relegation battle without him.

He said he was happy to stay but I hope the lockdown and possible delayed start to the season doesn't result in us losing him.

Salkeld was wanted by us in the summer, but apparently Hopkins went all out to get him and desperately wanted him. This is just going by Dundonian gossip and local media reports. Doesn't necessarily mean he's on a high wage but at the very least he was whispered sweet nothings. Tried to keep a keen eye ever since but not got on my radar much.

Then again, neither has Cadden the past season. Send him to Dens please based on your description alone.

Only going to do the summer signings as I don't think the January signings have had enough game time to make decisions on.

Ryan Williamson
Come pretty much as advertised by Pars fans, good going forward, awful defensively. Not our worst player this season, but bottom end of the Championship is probably his level. Massive downgrade on Christie Elliott.  4/10

Ben Hall
Came in, played about two games, then disappeared again. Seemed to do okay in the games he played and is young enough that probably should have been given more chance to develop. A very bizarre signing not helped by McCall clearly not fancying him. 2/10

Kenny Miller
The player who genuinely just won't go away. Scored a few goals and worked hard, but he seems to have developed this notion over the last few years that he is some sort of playmaker. He certainly isn't. Too much of a p***k for a team battling relegation and short on confidence. Glad we got rid in the end. 4/10

Alex Jones
I think there is a player in there. It's just buried deep, deep down. Had a few decent games but largely ineffective. Will be papped back down south to some National League outfit. 2/10

Reece Cole
Probably our best player this season, which, given that he has been massively hit or miss in games, tells its own story. Could develop into a very good player, but really needs to work on having more of an impact more consistently. 6/10

Shea Gordon
An enigma. Not in the Eric Cantona type of way, but in the "how can someone be so genuinely shite at football score so many goals from midfield" category. In my opinion, a really, really, really bad footballer who gets away with it because he scores the odd goal. Hopeless as a central midfielder who just goes hiding in games and seems incapable of getting involved in build up play. Saying that, I would be happy enough if he played as a Plan B next season. 4/10

Tommy Robson
Not a professional footballer. Will be shocked if he stays in full time football next season unless its down in the lower reaches of the National League. 2/10

Cammy Palmer
Again, there is a player in there, but he looked out of his depth once it was clear we were in a relegation battle. Might be better suited to a team at the upper end of a league rather than bottom. Not our worst player this season, but expected more given the hype. 3/10

Lewis Mansell
I actually feel sorry for Mansell. He is so clearly not up to this level and should have been punted on loan immediately after signing. There might well be a half decent player in there, but he needs a regular run out at a lower division to learn his trade. A Gary Caldwell vanity project that looks to have backfired. Wouldn't actually mind him being given a run next season in League One. 1/10

Dario Zanatta
Certainly capable on his day, but far too inconsistent and not enough of a threat given his obvious talent. A player that will hopefully rip up League One next season and push on from there. 3/10

Scott Fox
A pointless signing considering he took over as number one from a young keeper, Sneddon, who looks just as good as him and is likely one of our highest earners. Everyone knows what Scott Fox can do; the occasional world class save, letting almost every shot at his near post in, to having less command of his area than a Vietnamese hooker. Will surely be off next season. 4/10

Raffaele De Vita
Shite. 1/10

Mitch Austin
Bit of excitement when he signed given he looked decent on YouTube clips and looked to have a bit of pace. Came injured, never played, then fucked off again. A swing and a miss. 0/10

Ryan Williamson - 5/10

Seemed a decent signing at the time, got injured half way through the season, but prior to that was horrific defensively, did create a few goals with his crossing, but couldn't tackle, and held onto the ball too long. Had a decent partnership with Cardle at times, a downgrade on Christie Elliott.

Shea Gordon - 6/10

Scores goals, doesn't really do much else, although when asked to play a complete midfielder position, he's not going to be brilliant at it, has been unlucky with injuries, and had a habit of hiding in games, but he did run beyond, and get shots away, in a No.10 role, he'd be much better.

Lewis Mansell - 1/10

Signed him on a free from Blackburn, after an average loan spell, didn't get much game time, but was less than impressive when he did, scored 2 goals, an ugly one at Dens Park, and a consolation against Raith Rovers, baffles  me what Caldwell seen in him.

Kenny Miller - 6/10

Was great when the season began, scored some goals, and had a bit of confidence, after Caldwell left, he started losing his confidence, and missed about a dozen sitters (most notably one against Morton), he wasn't in the right place most of the Time, regularly played "The Kenny Position", and wasn't good enough to be a No.1 striker. Still ended the season as top goalscorer, with 10 goals, and our oldest ever goalscorer, at the grand age of 40. Not surprised he's now hung up the boots though.

Tommy Robson - 4/10

Looked decent first few games, then constantly following that, looked like he'd won a prize, and wasn't a footballer, he did however, become more effective in the last few games pre-shutdown, seemed to gain some confidence, and had a bit of fight about him, surprisingly, overall, one of the less than impressive lot though.

Scott Fox - 5/10

He's made some great saves this season, but he's also been a goalkeeper, who's had rare clean sheets, no doubt he's more than capable for this division, but like a lot of the team hasn't shown in it consistently, he had a run pre-January, where he was vital in some games, but his inability to come off his line, cost a few goals. Not the worst in the backline this season, not the best either, with a better defence and better understanding, he'd probably be one of the best in the league again.

Cammy Palmer - 6/10

A tidy enough midfielder, who did decent on a loan spell from Rangers, much better than his replacement in Barjonas. Probably a little lightweight for the division, but he had good ability, unfortunately he hit a spell a good form, then went away on International Duty, which left him out the team on his return, but a fairly okay spell.

Alex Jones - 4/10

Nowhere near good enough for most of the season, scored a couple of goals, but he was largely ineffective in most of the games he played, an injury at the beginning of the season didn't help him, but couldn't really score, couldn't hold the ball up brilliantly, and didn't seem to have a physique that he requited in the position he played, another failure from down south.

Raffa De Vita - 2/10

Among the most lazy players to have played for Thistle in a while, almost all his previous ability from his time at Livingston and Ross County, was gone, scored a great goal at Cappielow, but was mostly ineffective when played, just looked far too poor for this level, and doesn't look like he set the world alight, at Falkirk either. No heart, No desire, and not much ability, was pleased when McCall ended his loan spell.

Mitch Austin - 0/10

Injury-prone, and actually signed with an Injury, apart from a few Glasgow Cup games, he spent most of the season taking up a wage, a complete disaster of a signing from Caldwell, in his only real memorable appearance, coming off the bench against Raith Rovers, he missed a sitter, but actually didn't look too bad, McCall clearly didn't rate him, as he's since been dismissed.

Dario Zanatta - 4/10

A player who came with a lot of expectations, had one of the best debuts I've ever seen, against Ayr, but since that game, apart from a game up at Inverness, he's been pretty poor, doesn't score goals, doesn't assist, can't tackle, and isn't willing to get stuck in. Likes a good dive and rolling about the ground though, which becomes embarrassing after one or two. Defenders quickly realised how to play against him as well, and spent the rest of the season doubling up on him.

Ben Hall - 3/10

Actually didn't seem the worst when played, would liked to have kept him ahead of Saunders in January, but McCall released him and off he went to Falkirk. He just needed a bit of game time to get match fit, and he might have been fairly decent for us.

Reece Cole - 7/10

Our best player this season, by a mile, (or the least worst one, depending on your viewpoint),  faded away a bit near the end of the season, but had a decent campaign, chipped in with a few assists and goals, didn't mind trying a few from range, and could pick a pass, had we not got relegated, I'd have been confident of us signing him upon the experiy of his Brentford contract, he seemed to have a real affection for the club.

Osman Kakay - 6/10

Another decent loan signing, from QPR, didn't start well, was rotten against Dunfermline at home, but gradually started to play well in a further forward attacking role, would liked to have retained him post-January, still had a lot to learn, but could be a good player, at some point.

Zak Rudden - 5/10

Looked decent on his debut vs Celtic, got injured in the warm up against Ayr, and would see himself out for several weeks, seemed a bit low on confidence when coming back into the team, was unlucky not to have a goal or two, but certainly seemed a player, as soon as he was fully match fit.

Darian MacKinnon - 1/10

A poor signing, did okay on his debut vs Celtic, but from then on, was pretty poor, seemed overweight and unfit, got an injury, and then couldn't get in the team for some reason, the type of player we needed, but just not him.

Brian Graham - 7/10

The only player, over the whole season, to actually show fight, heart and desire, scored a couple of goals, and even in games where he wasn't too effective, he was leading the side, the classic, captain without the armband, without a shadow of a doubt, the best player McCall signed in January, and had the rest of the games been played, and we'd have stayed up, I can be sure, it would have been a lot down to Brian Graham, would love to keep him but expect he's too good for League 1, and will find a club convincingly, one if not two, tiers above.

Jamie Barjonas - 2/10

The Raith Rovers fans were right about him, he's a really poor player, he doesn't like to get involved at all, and if he thinks he has a future at Ibrox, then all I'll do is a laugh at him, he was immensely poor, one of the worst again in a longtime, playing him in midfield was like a man down, still not convinced he's a footballer.

Darren Brownlie - 6/10

Was fairly decent in the games he played, signed having been one of the best in the league, and was our best Centre-back of the season, no doubt, although that's not really an achievement to bestow yourself greatly with. Could have potentially formed a good partnership with O'Ware, but perhaps a long shot, given the poorness of O'Ware.

Lewis Mayo - 6/10

In the games he played, he was fantastic, unlike his fellow Rangers loanee, Barjonas, Mayo put a lot of effort in, and seemed more than capable at this level, unluckily signed with an injury, so didn't see him too much, but certainly looked the part, at the back, a partnership with Brownlie would have been good to see consistently.

Any summer signings getting more than 4 or 5 out of 10 is nonsense. Reece Cole being maybe the only exception. We were rock bottom for a reason.

Ryan Dow - 8/10. Unplayable at this level on his day, great decision to give him another crack at a higher level. Tormented many a full back and scored plenty of goals.

Aaron Comrie- 7/10. A solid 7/10 every week for him, big improvement on Williamson from season 18/19.

Kyle Turner - 6/10. Turner only just gets a 6 from me, i've been underwhelmed by him but had very high expectations of him. Games pass him by far too often. Has definitely had his moments though.

Gabby McGill - 4/10. Still young but haven't seen anything from him to suggest he'll make it at this level. Sorry Gabby.

Kevin Nisbet - 10/10. What a man. Not a lot more you can say.

Euan Murray - 6/10. Should be higher but hasn't played enough. Like what I see from him though.

Paul Paton - 7/10. Captain. Leader. Legend.

Josh Edwards - 4/10. Started off well but needs to buck up his ideas.

Loans: OFW, Dom Thomas, Greg Kiltie and Jonathan Afolabi all get pass marks. Didn't see enough of Ethan Ross and Anthony Macdonald to get a fair assesment. Didn't see any of Dylan Duncan. Cochrane and Coley were both poor.

Can only judge them for the time they were at the club. For example, Kakay, was only at the club for half a season and was fairly decent (6/10). Most of them are 5 or below. Gordon was injured for a lot of the season, so judging on when he’s played, he’s mostly scored, and for a man injured he’s scored more than anyone else (6/10), Miller played 6 months and was the top scorer (6/10). Cole I felt was above the rest so got (7/10), Palmer, was decent but again, only 6 months (6/10). None of them apart from Cole played continually throughout the season, and the rest have 5 or below. I don’t think the ratings are that unfair, a majority have 5 or below, some as low as 0 and 1, and that’s the reason we are rock bottom.

Zanatta’s far too Lightweight to rip up League One, he’ll get battered from pillar to post in that league for 90 minutes.

Nicky Cadden - 10/10

Been our best player by a mile and is one of the best players in the league. Rare to have a winger at this level who actually has a consistent end product.

Jack Baird - 6/10

Think some of our support overestimate him because of how bad our other defenders are.

Luca Colville - 7/10

Looks tidy and looking forward to seeing him progress.

Aiden Nesbitt - 6/10

Mixed bag on his return.

Danny Rogers - 7/10

Shaky Start but has recovered and found good form.

Kyle Jacobs - 7/10

Consistent.

John Sutton 5/10

Done a job at start of season.

Kalvin Orsi - 7/10

Sean McGinty - 4/10
Brian McLean - 2/10

Finished.

You're obviously entitled to your own opinion, but I don't think you can have over half your signings getting pass marks when your team, which has the third biggest budget in the league, finished bottom. If even three or four of our summer signings were average (5/10), we wouldn't have been relegated.

Aye, very possibly.

I think next season is a massive one for him. If he does well, his career will be back on track. If he does shite the bed without it, he can say goodbye to full time football in this country I reckon.

lang 6/10 hard to judge one pre-season game where he looked lost and 1 diddy cup match where he was 10x better, we were struggling defensively at the time and he looked like he’d get a starting spot. Unfortunately he did his hamstring that game and went out on loan once he recovered, got potential.

Sorry for holidaying in the Championship forums but I wanted to have a wee look at these lists and as much as I love Tom Lang I still don't understand the complex mathematics that have been performed to give a player who played 2 games, one where he was bad (apparently), a 6/10 for an entire seasons work - especially given that he left on loan in January. Superb.

For what it's worth he's a great player and if not for injury he would have been your best CB, absolutely no doubt.

Plus he's so handsome.

Robby McCrorie - 9/10
A very good goalkeeper, right up there with the best we've had in my time following the club.  He certainly has the potential for a big future in the game but talk of being Scotland's #1 is premature to say the least.  I'd put him on a similar level to fellow ex-loanee Zander Clark.

Kevin Holt - 7/10
Took a while to get going but soon became a key player for us with his much needed energy up and down the line, especially given Johnston's refusal to sign or play genuine wide men in midfield.  Put in a horrorshow of a performance against Queens Park when he was inexplicably played at CB.

Lee Kilday - 6/10
Just a bit meh really.  Doesn't do anything heroically good, or horrendously badly.  Genuinely tough to think of anything to say about him.

Dan Pybus - 3/10

If you look up the word overrated in the dictionary you see a picture of Dan Pybus.  I thought we'd evolved past players becoming fan's favourites because they run about a lot but here we are.

Lewis Kidd - 0/10
A farcical signing who contributed nothing positive to the team.

Jack Hamilton - 6/10

Looked like the perfect partner for Dobbie in the very brief glimpses we initially saw, finally got a run in the team and started to show that he was, before getting injured and disappearing to the fringes again.  Definitely rough around the edges with lots of areas requiring improvements but young enough that he could fulfil his potential.  Fitness is maybe an issue.

Gary Oliver - 6/10
Much like the Kidd signing, all of our fans could have predicted how this one would go from the minute it was announced.  He has ability, but is more interested in trying to win fouls than he is score goals.  For his size he is good at holding the ball up, and he did chip in with a few goals.  Never looked like building up any kind of understanding with Dobbie and didn't look comfortable in Johnston's favoured 4-3-3.  We're stuck with him for another season, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him move on if there are any interested parties.

Andy McCarthy - 0/10
Subbed before half-time against Queens Park never to be seen again.  Squad filler, nothing else.

Darren Lyon - 6/10
The closest we managed to replacing "7/10 every week" Kyle Jacobs in the holding midfield role.  If that is where Lyon had played every week I suspect his season's rating would have been 7/10 as well.  Better on the ball than Jacobs, but not as good in the air.  Suffered by being asked to play in various different positions as Johnston grew increasingly desperate.

Abdul Osman - 4/10
Has all the physical attributes to be an excellent combative midfielder aside from probably the most crucial.  The definitive "pea-heart", he treats the ball like a hot potato passing responsibility onto someone else at the first opportunity.

Callum Semple - 6/10

If you were judging him purely on games played then he would probably score 7 or 8 out of 10.  Unfortunately he didn't play often enough due to his fitness.  Another one who suffered from Johnston's erratic selection process in that he played when he shouldn't have, and then was omitted when he should have been playing.  Unlikely to rejoin whilst Johnston is in charge I'd imagine.  Hopefully Johnston goes and Semple stays.

Faissal El-Bakhtaoui - 7/10

Another player that was overrated by our fans, but I suppose understandably so given he was a diamond in amongst the vast quantities of shite served up last season.  It didn't always come off for El Bakhtaoui, and just like a lot of players of his ilk he drifted in and out of games as he pleased.  He was a joy to watch when it did come off though, the Dundee United performance being the obvious standout.

Michael Paton - 1/10
Paton was a lazy player first time around, but just about got away with it due to his ability and the fact he had a good team around him.  This laziness combined with his advanced years meant that this was another signing destined for failure from the get-go.

January signings

Ross Stewart - 1/10
An absolute donkey.

Michael Ledger - N/A
I don't think I saw him play, possibly once as I had stopped going to the games by the time he started featuring.

David Devine - 2/10

Lightweight and nowhere near reading for full-time adult football.  A bit of an unnecessary signing who found himself immediately thrown in as a first choice player for some bizarre reason.

Deimantus Petrevicius - N/A
As with Ledger I didn't see a lot of him.  Fluffing a one-on-one when clean through against Dundee was about the only thing I can remember.

Iain Wilson - 4/10
Joined a team that was struggling and wasn't really capable of offering anything to alter their fortunes.
