There isn't such a disparity between sides over the span of the league, in terms of trophies won and attendances, thus it could be viewed as more competitive and interesting, also teams only play each other twice in a regular season, although there are play-offs. Beerschot get crowds similar to United, roughly half the teams in a league of 18 clubs are better supported in Belgium than United. We've got a slightly bigger stadium and we appear to get slightly bigger crowds. But I guess they get a slightly bigger TV deal etc, because there's not a chance in hell we could spend anywhere close to £1m on any player these days.
