The Spanish, German, Italian and English teams don't come in until the following round iirc ETA I am hoping we get into the next round and get Cologne. It's a brilliant city. Not sure if I could make the away game(s) but I'd drop everything for that one. Cologne would be great. Amazing city. Though we’d get pumped.

So, just hoping for a sunshine tie in August ala Athens rather than Finland. Wee trip to Dundalk first, then off to the sunshine somewhere would be the perfect return to Europe for me.

mishtergrolsch
We definitely won't get far in the competition but id like to win at least one tie then go out in a blaze of glory against some semi notable second tier European team like Rijeka or Antwerp or something.

The last time we won at least one tie was 25 years ago against an Andorran pub team - I wouldn't get your hopes up. Give me someone like Panathinaikos, Rijeka or Anorthosis Famagusta straight off the bat and I'll be happy.

Sarto Mutiny
Looking at the 4th qualifying round, the teams from the bigger leagues are:7th place in the Barclays (currently West Ham)7th place in the Bundesliga (will definitely be Köln)7th place in La Liga (currently Villarreal)7th place in Serie A (currently Fiorentina)5th place in Ligue Un (currently Strasbourg)There is also the possibility of a dropout from the 3rd round of Champions League qualifiersThe bad news is, there are a lot of very good teams lurking before we even get that far, so we'll probably get pumped out by a team from Kazakhstan or something

Funnily enough the Conference League is meant to be the third rate trophy, yet Roma and Feyenoord who are in the Final are arguably better teams than both Rangers and Frankfurt. ArabianKnight
I'm thinking of this European adventure awaiting us as a nice glamour friendly with a decent payout attached to it. If we win we get another nice glamour friendly with a decent payout attached too.

I always thought that early stage ties cost the clubs involved money rather than making them any; i.e. the costs outweighed the income.

Dundee Hibernian
Don't think Braga will be in the Conference League, as they step up to Europa League if Porto win the Cup next Sunday: they're playing Tondela in the Final.

CE PRINCIPAT as they were called then. Don't think they exist anymore. Couple of very familiar refs in those ties. Pierlugi Collina refereed the game in Andorra. Kim Milton Nielson of Denmark who sent Beckham off against Argentina in France 98 the Tannadice game. Half a mill from Europe if we get put out in QR3. Pretty decent ticket sales for the home leg I'd imagine. I reckon we'll get Man U because the universe works that way with the Levitt connection

Aye they changed their name to CE Principat as they ‘weren’t allowed’ to play under the name they qualified as.
