Obvious from his very first appearance that he had the turning circle of the Ever Given - almost as baffling a signing as giving Connolly an extended contract. Not necessarily. He can play a decent pass and strike the ball. If he's required to move or turn then he's beyond useless.

I really hope that this is not true. If re-signing Pawlett is the extent of our ambition as a club then it’s a sad day. -
skinny arab
Pawletts new deal better be on hugely reduced terms. So far this season we have seen new contracts for Connolly, Harkes, Clark, Smith & now Pawlett, with Smith being the only one that most would agree on (Clarks new deal would be acceptable if he was being played as a forward). These deals are a bit concerning for me if the club truly wish to progress as we should surely be looking at improving & replacing a large amount of the first team but that isn’t looking like the case.

The terms are irrelevant, he’s either good enough or he’s not - and he’s not. Clark definitely deserved a new contract, even as a second string striker but more so if Shanks moves on in the summer. -

Agent puts out story other club are interested. Current club panic and throw contract at player. Just imagine the thought process of someone running a top flight club offering Mark Connolly and Peter Pawlett multi-year deals.
East Coast Warrior
Pawlett is somewhere between massively unambitious and bewildering waste of money. I wouldn't have been racing out to renew any of our 'creative' player deals when we've struggled so much to create chances. What a poor, poor new deal to sign from United's point of view.

But...wait...we've got global contacts...scouts and analysts...a recruitment team...we've got Tony the ex Agent as Sports Director running the show and signing everything off. And yet we're extending an aging Pawlett who's injured regularly after hearing rumours that the manager is getting hoofed unless he plays these amazing young lads we have who are practically falling over each other to get into the first team?

There will be a basic salary and a massive appearance bonus, goan and assist bonus id assume. I'm sure he'll be fighting fit from now on.

Steven W
Ross Doohan in on an emergency loan. A player that caught the eye at Ayr I thought. Would be tempted to throw him in tomorrow.
