Tomorrow after the last qf

We're nailed on to get Killie, aren't we?

If they beat St Mirren, we will. If St Mirren win, we'll get Hibs, as it seems this season, St Johnstone have been tasked with noising up the Maureens at every opportunity.

^^^ Absolutely bricking it.

Quite sad really. It's never occurred to me to worry about the Fun winning a major trophy. And I suspect it never will.

They have reached one cup final in my lifetime. Two in my dad’s lifetime (he’s now in his 60’s).  Needless to say they’ve not won one in either of our lifetimes.

I think my great, great granddad may have been at primary school when they lifted the trophy.

And spent about £20 million to lose the game.

Thats exactly what i thought too. And Hibs will pump us. Id rather the Fermers out of anyone in the semi so we can't do a 2016 if we get to the final.

Who do we want in the semis? I'm not sure it matters. Play like yesterday and we'd likely beat any of the others. Play like a lot of the season until yesterday and we'd struggle against everyone.

I'd love to put St Johnstone out or beat them in the final. Smug p***ks.

Massive massive chance to get into either the group stages of europa league or the new conference thingy.

Just the small matter of making it through the semi final, final and then the play off match 🤣🤣🤣

It’s almost TOO easy...

Highlights anywhere?

Whole game

Highlights

Good to see the win has heightened the mood. Up til 2:30pm yesterday it seemed Mellon didn't have a clue and was going to Doncaster anyway, Asghar was the devil, his son would be next manager, McNulty was a nonentity and Harkes lacked any talent.

Hope we continue on a similar track to yesterday's performance, but we probably know that inconsistency has been the biggest issue this season.

As long as we line up the good games with the cup games ahead I don't care.

Maybe worth pondering. Will Mellon decide to give more game time to youngsters in the remaining league games to keep the more experienced players fresh for the Cup?

I would hope we wrap the first team in cotton wool and give some of the younger ones a run out.

I hope so.

I hope not.

The players don't need a two week break!

We're playing Ross County next weekend and the semi is the weekend after that.

If there was a game midweek prior, fair enough, but there isn't.

Until yesterday there were many of us who:

a) thought playing Shankland, McNulty and Clark together was chronic, and;

b) thought Harkes was a very poor player.

These views were reasonable based on evidence from previous games.

We had an exceptional display yesterday that showed the three strikers could work and that Harkes can play very well.  I’m happy to go with this into the coming cup game(s) if that’s what Mellon thinks and do whatever he wants in the league regardless.
