I switched off at 3-0, so maybe a little bit wrong of me to comment, but I far preferred that today, despite the heavy scoreline, to the marginal 2-1 loss to them in December.

So did I on both counts.

I think most United fans will be to be honest. But its definitely more possible than it was three weeks ago.

We're 10 points clear of Killie in 10th

6 points clear of Motherwell in 9th

and it's only St Johnstone in 8th

7th would be no surprise at all.

Well have a game in hand though.

We've got a pretty tough run in before the split. Then its dog eat dog. Its also time for Hamilton to turn into the jakie Barca and County and Killie will he scrapping like f**k.

7th would be a surprise imo, not an unwelcome one and not something we shouldn't be aiming for now. But after this season id be pishing myself if we did finish 7th. The Fermers will also pick up a good few points too.

I dont see us dropping below 9th now tbh.

To finish sixth I reckon we’d need to win two of the next three AND have scores go in our favour.  Don’t see that happening tbh.

So long as we stick with four at the back and utilise the likes of Sporle and Appere I’ll be confident of staying up.

Regardless of today’s result I respect Mellon for having a go and playing a slightly tweaked team and formation.

I mean clearly my reply was just a weak slap down but to have a St Johnstone supporter saying they can't see United finishing in the position they are currently in whilst both teams have very similar form is just mind blowing.

Basically saying they can't see themselves staying in their own position either.

They're probably struggling with the fact we've been down in the Fundesliga and there's a chance they'll finish below us for the first time in a few years.

Worried they won't be Taysides top club for much longer.

Bless.

We played well, but if you defend like that, then you put yourself up against it.

It was beyond sloopy, it was schoolboy stuff.

Aye that sloopy defending is the worst
