MuckleMoo
I'm fucking hopeless when it comes to films and it's gotten worse as I've gotten older. Will be watching films with the kids with tears streaming down my face and they'll be absolutely fine. Mark Connolly
Cool Runnings, when they pick the sled up and walk towards the finish line. Every. Fucking. Time. The end of Paddington 2 when he finds out what the Browns got as Aunt Lucy's present had me pretty close the other day too!

Absolutely destroyed me. 1 hour ago, Gaz said: I can only infer, sir, that you don't have a soul. The entire trilogy has loads of cutting onions moments. I just find that bit quite naff. A total shoulder shrugger. The bits that get me most are when the Rohirrim are firing down the hill at Helm's Deep and on the Pellenor.

Gandalf's conversation about death with Pippin is also up there.

welshbairn
Il Postino. Lonely postman makes friends with a world famous poet only to find out the poet was taking the pish all along and was laughing at him. Might have got that wrong, it was a long time ago, just googled it and they're saying it was a comedy. Last film I remember greeting at though.

jamamafegan
is the correct answerTotally with you on this one, watched this on a raging hangover once and nearly burst into tears.I’ve never cried at a movie but I’ve had lumps in my throat, not at sad scenes but more like the above - scenes of triumph with powerfulmusic and with that, sheer euphoria. An example would be Toy Story where near the end of the film, having been through the whole journey with the characters, woody and buzz are flying towards the truck (“Buzz, you’re flying! This isn’t flying it’s gliding in style etc whatever it is.) The music and scene puts a lump in the throat for me.Oh and another example is the climax of ‘Elf’ when everyone’s singing “Santa Claus is coming to town” and then the sled starts working again, Elf and Santa taking off above New York. Oh boy I had to hold my shit together in front of the family last Christmas at that bit!
