The 'glass ceiling'

...Significantly, though, it was only WoSFL teams who were being accomodated, not former junior teams who now play in the EoSFL.

And once more clubs grasp the implications of that last bit the 53 will probably start to dwindle significantly. Other than Lochee and maybe very occasionally Carnoustie and Broughty who is left that looks like a possible quarter-finalist from the east and north regions?

Naebodie and given well over a third of the entrants are north region and Tayside clubs there will be plenty of long trips to play in front of very low crowds against amateur standard teams in west of Scotland terms. The SCC is clearly a notch up in terms of quality at this point.

Having 14 non-SJC participants on board in year one means that the WoS will be able to start a viable alternative straight away  (COVID19 permitting) to fill whatever early season Saturdays get allocated. Hopefully pointing that out won't lead to all the bizarre replies I received the last time I made that point on here.

The SPFL are so keen on a glass ceiling they just promoted an ex Junior team to League One despite the league not finishing. You pleb

Yes using an example of a club who were in the junior grade 35 years ago for 1 season and it being relevant to today's closed shop glass ceiling is perfectly reasonable. 😄👍

The facts remain. An ex junior club has been promoted to the 3rd tier of Scottish football. They managed this because they joined the pyramid at the earliest opportunity. Junior clubs were welcome to do so and chose not to so are now playing catch up.

There is no closed shop. There was no reconstruction, so the Club 42 playoff is still in place.

This is the kind of naivety that needs exposed time and time again in the future. In Scottish football rules and regulations mean very little they can be twisted to suit the established clubs agenda even easier in a post pandemic world .

Time to wake up!
