There is still the fig leaf of ongoing SJC entry but no word on how the voting went on that unless I missed something?

Not a peep. Almost two weeks on from the closing date for votes as well.

Still waiting for Dundee to vote 😁

I missed that! I rather thought it was still a slight possibility, as some of the smaller clubs that didn't really want to move in the first place might be keen on it, the Saltcoats Vics types.

No, after Felix's call last weekend for clubs to return to the juniors, the WoSFL chairman announced on Sunday tea time that, after constructive talks, all clubs would be staying in the new WoSFL.

I definitely missed that. Thanks for the info, I'm sure it's the right decision though I do understand the moving of the goalposts did disappoint a lot of clubs.

Surely if the vote for the changes was carried it would have been published by now...?

Probably stuck wondering how to to treat spoiled ballots if everyone in SJFA membership was sent voting information. Since then 8 clubs have joined the EoSFL on top of the 63 that moved to the EoSFL. Out of that 71 a small number have publicly said they won't be renewing their SJFA memberships, some others may have done so privately.

Then going by the questionnaire on the entering the pyramid some clubs returned their information saying that it didn't apply to them or never even responded. Something similar may have happened here again.

When is the SJFA AGM?

Don't be surprised if you don't hear the result of the vote until then. Plus we'll see how many WOS clubs pay their subs and maintain their membership.

Does anyone know for sure whether the Fife clubs(plus Luncarty) can have dual membership?

But if they don't announce the result till the AGM, the clubs would have to renew their membership to attend the AGM. But they can't renew membership if they're not playing in an SJFA league under the current wording of the constitution. So it has to be announced before the AGM.

Going to guess the WoSFL and EoSFL AGMs will also be before the SJFA one. Due to COVID19 certain decisions may well be stalled, but typically its the EoS AGM where they would do all their 1st/2nd Round Cup draws so they can go away and draw up the fixture list.

That would mean all the new applicants being included into the Qualifying Cup, League Cup, King Cup and Alex Jack Cup in a typical year. Which severely restricts the former East Region clubs to continue playing in the Junior Cup if they had the option.

That's a fair point.

They didn't have that option anyway.

I thought the vote was basically for anyone outwith a Junior league to still maintain SJFA membership?

Nope, only the WoSFL clubs.

So much for those with the idea of the Junior Cup becoming the all encompassing national non-league competition.

Kelty were warned years ago that they were getting involved with an organisation a group of clubs that looked after themselves and that they were merely replacing one glass ceiling for another. They charged ahead under new leadership abandoning the junior heritage built up over decades chucking money to reach the 'promised land'.
Today that ambition has been blocked it will continue to be block especially in the post pandemic years.
The drawbridge has almost been fully shut.
The rest embracing this phoney pyramid will also be dealt a bad hand and will scrambling about underneath the closed shop with no real identity feeling apart of the national game but in reality nothing of the sort.
Today the pyramid was shown up as it will be again and again when it's crunch time and those blinded by the bright lights in this lala lala land will never see the truth and won't care a jot about the carnage and ill feeling they have caused.

The SFA, SJFA etc and the memberships/cups issue seems so confusing - must be an easier way ?

There was an easy way right from the start, but people got involved who didn't need to in an attempt to save things which didn't need saving, and it all got incredibly and unnecessarily messy.

No amount of your smarty Alec belly aching will detract from the fact that he is right and that you are fighting a rearguard action that has already failed.

We get your point, you can give it up now. We're going to do it anyway and we're looking forward to it. Just as soon as the fitba starts we'll be fitba teams in leagues/groups/conferences with a different name but it will still be fitba. Bring it on.
