You can let your mind wander when it drags on for 6 weeks but my first instinct was that Callum Davidson ticked the boxes. He understands the club (and the chairman), should have good contacts and knows a lot of the squad. 

Something new would obviously have been more exciting but that can evaporate pretty quickly and if he can carry on the good work of Tommy Wright, that's clearly preferable to any short-term buzz.

Callum is the perfect choice imo.

Will he be able to force the chairmans hand as much as Tommy did though?
