Have clubs been shafted?

Recommended Posts

Word is many of the 'smaller' clubs ie below west premier feel as though they have been terribly treated by the sfa and those who work for them.

This totally unworkable 20 team league and not what the other 40 odd clubs signed up for at all. We will be lucky to have any football at all next season .

Many now must be reconsidering position in all of this.

Got to feel for them.

Shafted twice over if they run with this.

There's no promotion until 2022 in the conference gig.

You wait a year to post that?

That's been around since it came out. Issues such as 18 teams in the SoSFL when there were only 16, use of JJP & JPP, and the fact it completely ignored the Highland Pyramid at Tier 6 were all noted at the time.

Let's face it the clubs have no option at this stage but to go along with it.

But don't try and insult the public watching this farce.

Not true. From today's statement :-

"There will be promotion and relegation across the league at the end of season 1."

You don't seem to be too sure.

No, I just think you are at it, or just don’t comprehend, either way it all adds up to the same thing.

Yes, there will be conferences below the tier 6 league, with promotion from the conferences to the top league at the end of next season.

Put up the statement glensmad and lets see it.
Following a video conference this afternoon with the Scottish Football Association, the long running discussions on the setting up of the West of Scotland Football League within the Pyramid have finally been concluded.

During the meeting it was made very  clear that our Clubs were extremely disappointed that "all in " balanced conferences would not be introduced from season 1, however it was confirmed that option was not on the table.

After constructive discussions it was agreed  that there will be a top division of 20 teams. This will be made up of the 16 teams from the West Region Premiership plus  Darvel Juniors, Cumbernauld United and Blantyre Victoria from West Region Championship and Bonnyton Thistle. The remaining teams will be allocated to balanced conferences.

There will be promotion and relegation across the league at the end of season 1. The details of that will be agreed when we have a clearer picture of what the playing season looks like, given all the current uncertainties.

This new structure will be subject to  formal ratification, required by the Scottish Football Association process, and we can now proceed to move forward to make a success of our new league.

Chairman

Sounds like nonsense to me. Let’s just wait and see what happens.
