WoSFL Licensing

A lot depends on the personnel within these clubs, whether licensing is a priority for them or not. Having the necessary ground requirements is one thing, but having people willing to commit to the minefield of paperwork (that never gets mentioned when licensing is discussed) is another thing. Ground criteria make up only about 25% of the clauses that require compliance.

Edinburgh South, Bo'ness Athletic and Syngenta - sharing with Dalkeith, Bo'ness Utd and Stenhousemuir - are 3 examples in East where clubs share a licensed park but aren't licensed themself (nor necessarily in process or even actively looking at it). Leith may not once into Meadowbank with Edinburgh City. Heston with QotS were another example in South. Some clubs just lack the manpower/etc.

Ground sharing on a grass park doesn’t meet the WOSFL ground criteria as it is, Drumchapel and St Cadoc’s are hopefully working on their on grounds.
Have Drumchapel and St Cadoc's been given timescales on dates to have their ground up to standard for?

If paying spectators have not been allowed in Drumchapels ground since it opened plus facilities not up to scratch at Donald Dewar how did they manage to get into West of Scotland Football League as surely that is one of the main criteria to new teams at our level that paying spectators can get into the ground?

Are all Division 4 teams grounds compliant or is ground sharing allowed for them as on 4g pitches?

The lowland were running it at the time and they applied along with all the west juniors, there was a “accept all policy” at the time. but with new member clubs being asked to meet the ground criteria it’ll soon be asked if all clubs, probably around promotion.

I believe the league reps will be contacting them at the start of the year for an update.

No, new members will be allowed on a ground share basis, a temp ground share on Astro for a limited time is permitted but if the clubs doesn’t have ground criteria passed at their own group then promotion will be denied.

school cages will be denied entry

Drumchapel manager was on this show [43mins] talking about the situation, seems like Covid has delayed things with their plans to take over the Donald Dewar and they were unable to have spectators as it's being used a vaccination centre (which obviously wasn't a problem last season).

Could Drumchapel and St Cadoc's be denied promotion then or is that just for Division 4 teams moving into Division 3 next season?

Girvan's lights have been up and running for a while - mentioned elsewhere on P&B. Burntisland Shipyard and Wigtown & Bladnoch were also under the same pressures to get floodlit and retain their licences. Good to see that all three made it.

They are 15m according to the planning application, though the pitch is sloped towards the stand.

I have no knowledge of what they should be but can't remember seeing photos of others where they are blazing in the background like that. May be completely misguided.

Same height as Talbot and Darvel according to planning. But there is a running track around Girvan, so they need to be angled differently to those which are closer to the pitch and can point downwards more.
