Conference Call

No, it was suggested last night as a possibility.

Personally I don't see it panning out that way though.

Why should the league cup be dropped in favour of another associations cup that not everyone in the actual host cup will play in?
Just play the junior cup midweek if people want to enter it.

I like your idea for a 20 team premier, would certainly fill up saturdays and give us some midweek football in august and spring!

It's important to remember that 15 spectators worth of admission money for two linesmen becomes a highly significant expense item if there are only 40 or so paying spectators at a game, which can easily happen at this level.

I totally understand that, just answering the previous poster.

38 match league isn't workable next season

Alot of these clubs should have asked more questions rather than just jump ship because someone told them to.

Many of them should also have remained in the Junior grade where they were happy.

If some of them want to reignite the West Region juniors then they should do so.

Failing that, shut up and get this moving. There were no promises.

Think 16 is about right, 30 games plus a few cup - added to the usual postponements. Bigger leagues are ok  if you can bang a few night games in early , otherwise you'll get the traditional squeeze at the end of the season. If lower divisions are different tiers/levels are there tight criteria to achieve promotions ?

Yes it is if the season starts in August. Using saturdays and midweeks, Play 8 games in august, 6 in september, 3 league games in october, 3 in november, 3 in december, 3 in january, 3 in feb, 3 in march, 6 in april, gives free weekends for lowland league cup and league cup. Probably no time for the sjfa cup but no one cares.

Football is nothing without opponents that challenge you - imagine the wasteland that will be the East region in a decade's time. If Ants, Shotts and Royal Albert go, they'd be making a huge error of judgement. The Titanic analogy is well-worn but it is apt. Getting out of the lifeboats, going back aboard and reclaiming your seat in the dining room as it was more comfortable.

Yes I got an answer previously thanks. But it's not entirely fair for teams in the top league to start on a level playing field again given that they have worked hard to get themselves in this position before being forced to make this move.

Respectfully disagree JB. Clydebank weren’t forced to move and although being placed in the top division would be beneficial I feel that it is unfair to 50 clubs who must feel as if they have been relegated without kicking a ball. We are all joining a new league. Position in this season’s WRSJFA should have no relevance in next season’s WoSFL.

I know you said before that the West Premier didn't interest you but surely you paid enough attention to how many postponements used to happen. That's fantasy you've posted there.

Many should have stayed in the dining room to start with, this particular ship wasn’t sinking. They chose to go with no guarantees in place.

Because the LL told west region clubs that would happen subject to certain conditions being met by the SJFA. The LL didn't have to do that but did, so you have to live with the SJC being part of the equation, if the SJFA ratifies the necessary rule changes.

Clydebank are another story though pal. It's common knowledge that they have wanted senior status and it really didn't matter a whole lot what the circumstances were. Also, they are a club used to starting again so it's ok with them. Clubs like Talbot, Glenafton and Beith haven't been near relegation for years so are bound to feel hard done by.

Without the bigger clubs it would have withered, just like the East is doing. All that keeps it going is the Tayside clubs with nowhere to go.

Whilst Glencairn, Troon and Rob Roy are gonna be in the top division. Deservedly? Maybe not if we are to use position from this season.

EoS conference teams were doing 34 league games this season + SCC + FNQC + LC + KC + AJC/SC. If the League Cup gets binned 38 is challenging but feasible for tier 6 WoS.
