I actually liked this sponsor. Probably because at the time Ajax were doing it with ABN AMRO on their shirt and it looked cool as f**k.

Was overheard calling Stirling Albion a pub team when talking to an ex team mate who was playing with the Albion in the late 90's, naturally didn't go down well with the fans of my local side, any match he played against them afterwards he got absolute pelters, deservedly so.

Never has a surname been more appropriate.

Nice to see Thistle promoting great Scottish cuisine back in the 80s.20200424_180231.jpeg

Could be wrong but that looks to me like the all bench arena that was Kilbowie Park, Clydebank.

A very odd ground to say the least but I actually quite liked it.

The Steedmans really were a bunch of b*****ds who killed that club selling the ground from under them with no interest in building a new stadium, pocketed the cash and left them to rot.

Yes it looks very like Kilbowie. A fine ground in the sunshine as I remember but a nightmare in the pissing rain.

Ancient Shire fans might have said "no surprise there" considering previous history

Aye, the ES Clydebank takeover which was reversed by the league I believe?

Before my time but did they play as ES Clydebank for a season before Shire were readmitted to the SFL ?

Sure I recall reading that somewhere

In my opinion, St Mirren’s best looking sponsor logo was Kelvin Homes on the all-black ‘Paisley pattern’ kit, with the worst one, by a country mile, the huge JD Sports ‘king of trainers’ shield on the multi-stripe kiddie’s pirate costume kit.

I'd have to agree with you on that one. Odd that the away shirt that year, horrific as it is, had the same sponsor logo but in different colours and looked so much better than the sponsor on the home kit:

st-mirren-2014-2015-carbrini-away-footba

My mate was on a stag do in Spain and one of the days they did a "full-kit wankers" day out - with a few days to go he didn't have anything so went into a JD and came out with this whole kit for about £12. Even with the washed-out effects of the stripes at the top of the shirt it's still miles better than the home kit was that year.

Alloa - I think they were ironically sponsored by Sterling who should have added Albion to their name
Arbroath - Smokies Discotheque
Celtic - CR Smith
Clyde - Solripe
Clydebank - Auctionman
Dundee United - VG

Falkirk-Coasters

Forfar- Ramsay Ladders

Hamilton - Glassbern
Hearts - Mita
Hibs - P&D windows
Killie - Seriously Strong Cheddar

Meadowbank- Raj Restaurant

Montrose- Bon Accord Glass

Partick- Colonel Gees

Rangers - CR Smith

Stirling- FES

St Johnstone- Famous Grouse

Stranraer- Sealink

I suppose it depends on the era you first watch football and the effect of subliminal advertising in panini stickers  etc on the young mind but I've amended the list for my era

Assume you mean Sports Division for us, because we've never been sponsored by Sports Direct.

That’s a good point, yours screams late 80s/early 90s (I am getting old now bit recognize players from the 90s Easier than today’s players due to things like sticker books and as a adolescent and young adult I used to read everything that the Record & Sun threw out there so image wise I was a lot more used to seeing it.

Sorry Craig that’s what I meant, I remember mainly the white kit with the yellow band (and the JJB one that reminded me of Wigan)

AT Mays is far more iconic from a Killie point of view.....
