Forth Wanderers were sponsored by Scottish rock band GUN for a while. Paul McManus that plays drums for them is from Forth

Bands sponsoring teams is great, no matter what level it's at. Biffy Clyro sponsored Bonnyton Thistle's under-9s in 2009:

The View sponsored Dryburgh Athletic under-11s in a similar manner:

And elsewhere The Prodigy sponsored Eastleigh Reds under-13s:

In terms of adults' fitba, I always liked the Newport County kit that Goldie Lookin' Chain sponsored:

In a further twist there is a indie-pop band from the states called Forth Wanderers. Although I've not heard much of them in a while. Maybe they split up.

Yeah, I was part of the committee that ran the music festival in forth and we were trying to get in touch with the band to get involved....even virtually

For Villa, the Muller sponsor in the mid nineties took up half the shirt.

Whereas it was fantastic when we were sponsored by local children's charity Acorns for free.

Had a few funny looks wearing my Clyde 'Cash for Kids' top too.

Definitely an age thing as I think of this as Killie, closely followed by A Plant which was the start of Killiies rise to the Premier. It's not fondly remembered by fans I think, the hooped top I mean.

Big fan of the "support your local team" bit underneath the sponsor. A fair few in this country would do well to take heed of that...
