That's a good point. Think most churches who began this facility in COVID times have continued with it. Makes sense for older members, people who may have moved away or just anyone who wants to see what it's all about.

Tbh it’s a good idea all around because if say a parishioner is sick or unable to get into mass as they’re away etc they can still tune in and get it.

So Moses an old Jewish guy goes up the mountain and God slips him the 10 commandments.

Allowing for translation from Aramaic to Greek to Latin to English over time, that's some cool shit to a population that were basically into barbarism.

Thy shall not Kill is pretty profound for a human race that's been slaughtered each since time began.

Honour they father and mother, again some going considering guys like Ghenis Khan fathered it's reckon wains in the thousands. Obviously most folk back didn't know who was dad and who was uncle or the guy that wiped out your village. There must have been some amount of inter family heave ho. Dad could have been grandfather and great grandfather all at the same time. It must have been open season with the female family members. The two parents four grandparents 8 great grandparents scenario only goes so far back before that comes crashing down. Even first cousin relationship only ease the numbers slightly. So grampa must have jumping the granddaughters or the world population would be now about 200 Billion.

Interesting the ten commandments don't mention slavery.

First problem, the generally accept version isn’t actually the correct one. Going back to the earliest texts, the proper translations appears to be “Thou shall not murder”…much more in line with the fighting habits of the time, kill away in a warfare context.

Or homosexuality. Many modern Christians insist God is as obsessively opposed to it as they are and yet it didn't even make his top ten "thou shalt nots". And when God II came to earth for the do-over, he didn't care enough to express an opinion on it.

But God hates fags. They'll assure you of that.

The last two sentences there are a load of dung. No Christian believes that God hates.

Many posts above aren't correct. Quick search confirms places of worship were shut until Jul 2020 - pubs & cinemas actually reopened slightly earlier - and again Jan to Apr 2021 (when Scottish Government lost judicial review). Singing wasn't allowed nationwide until Jul 2021. Masks stopped Apr 2022 after FM hypocritically went without at Westminster Abbey.

Yes, I can't say I recall the spell when schools were locked, but churches housed jostling, singing crowds.

You, sir, are sadly mistaken…at least in the minds of the hate mongers themselves. There’s a plethora of “churches” that preach the Old Testament views of homosexuals, et al. Now, are they Christians is a good question, but they are certainly omnipresent.

None of those involve hate

I can come up with some arsehole fellow East Fife fans if you want, probably a few of whichever team you support. But do they represent us?

These are zealots, not Christians.

By your opinion, if you ask them they are “God-fearing Christians, just trying to follow God’s word in the Bible”.

The difference being, @jimbaxters claimed NO Christians believe God hates. I showed evidence that there are many who do. He can claim they aren’t Christians if he wants but THEY believe they are.

Happens all the time when Christians/Muslims/Jews/Whatevers say or do something that other Christians/Muslims/Jews/Whatevers supposedly don’t approve of.  “But these Christians/Muslims/Jews/Whatevers are not REAL Christians/Muslims/Jews/Whatevers“ is the plea.  The problem is the Christians/Muslims/Jews/Whatevers making the plea have no right to tell the others that they are not REAL Christians/Muslims/Jews/Whatevers.

Anyway, during lockdown my Atheism flourished.
