St Johnstone and Ross County fans whinging about having to play "meaningless games" takes the biscuit tbqh.

Makes a change from hearing the constant whinging and whines from the Hearts owner & supporters.

Its down at Tynecastle we moan, we moan and we moan, we moan all day long.

Repeat!  we moan and we moan, we moan all day long.

come on gives us another moan, you lot are good at it.

I am not advocating it, this seems to be the common chat to allow these top six clubs space to compete in Europe in April and May (?)

Sorry, i wasn't looking to ask you to answer the question yourself, it was more of a general point that needs answered imo.

I just feel that this 14-10-10-10, throws open far more questions on topics that nobody knows the answers too. It would be the very least I'd expect of an club CEO or owner to ask for answers to future voting structures, actual payments to clubs in finishing positions (i don't like this 13.01% description, how much for 1st, 2nd...44th etc.) What about relegation/play off positions.

Imo the top 14 splitting into an 8,with a bottom 6 would be better than what's been suggested atm, but discussion and clarity is required.

The best atmospheric stadium in Scotland.

A proper ground haha. The socialist in you comes to the fore. The professional kink in the main stand is humorous.

Atmospheric, like the Nuremberg rallies.

I've gone from 'get these c***s down right now' to quite enjoying the slight glimmer of hope they will be feeling at every pathetic attempt to save their sad, sorry souls. Will make it even sweeter when they eventually are 'expelled' into the championship where they truly belong.

To be fair Gordon Scott or Sir Jon Obika, and a Hearts badge would be a more accurate reflection of events.

Tears pouring out of the Hearts badge would also be a nice touch.

Go on, you know you can do it.:P

I dont know if anyone has seen what they do in austria which i feel would work here but there are obviously cons to it

it goes like this

14 teams with a split after 2 games each meaning 26 games to the split of a top 6 and bottom 8.

The big thing is the uefa spots with from next season we will have 5 so 1 of the uefa spots is kept for the winners of the bottom 8 which would be a big concession from clubs such as my own Motherwell as well as clubs who hope on a regular basis to get in top 6.

Top 6 play each other home and away with uefa spots handed out to top 4 or 3 if someone outside top 4 or winners of bottom 8 wins Scottish cup.

Bottom 8 split into 2 groups of 4 after 26 games so  number 7,9,11,13 in 1 group and 8,10,12,14 in another with playing each other home and away meaning another 6 games. Top 2 in each group go into semi finals then final both home and away to get the europa league spot meaning maximum games 36 . Bottom 2 in each group play off home and away with their "semi final winners" safe from relegation with the 2 "semi final losers" going against each other with the losers automatically relegated with championship winners promoted and the losers in a play off with 2nd in championship to stay up.

The benefits of this in bottom 8 would mean there would be no dead rubbers and create excitement as well as still as now 1 relegated and 1 in a play off with 2nd in championship.

It would also end the farce of sometimes having to play a team 3 times at home or away as sometimes happens just now.

I've always found the whole notion of creating these mini-groups absolutely ludicrous. You've no longer got a fair way of actually relegating the two worst clubs - two teams in the same section could stink the place out for the post-split section and one of them would stay up anyway, while a teams who performs well in the other section could still in . You're also drastically reducing the number of games each club plays.

In addition to that, while I don't mind the idea of a European play-off, it is a complete nonsense that the teams in 4th, 5th and 6th could miss out on a European spot with a bottom section team who wins a diddy group stage and a play-off getting in instead.

Actually like this idea. It's something I'd like to see introduced. 2021/22 seems like it would work for a time frame.

Honestly, it does address lots of the issues people have with the 14 team proposal. Split isn't ridiculously early (3 games earlier than now). Sides would see a pathway to getting in the top 8 more than the top 6. Everyone plays the same number of games.

Edit: just to clarify he's saying "playoff" when he's just meaning defining the final fixture.

I don't think that is what he means by "play-offs", given that he literally calls them "positional play-offs", and I think it's a dreadful idea. The choice to make the play-offs being 1st v 2nd, 3rd v 4th etc is completely arbitrary and doesn't make any sense competitively. You could have the 1st placed team 30 points clear of 2nd, while 2nd and 3rd finish level on points, in which case it would obviously make a lot more sense to have 2nd v 3rd in a play-off. And who is genuinely going to give the tiniest f**k about a 7th v 8th play-off when there is absolutely nothing meaningful at stake?

Theoretically you could have 6th place chucking game 26 to finish in the lower part of the division.

Can you imagine the scenes next season, if the leagues gets called early again, but this time the bottom Premiership team stays up and the Championship team sitting top doesn't get promoted, and Hearts were sitting 15 points clear at the top of the Championship. Citing that it would be unfair to relegate anyone.

Ann Budge would have to go against all her reasons for how unfair it was on Hearts, being relegated this season.🤣
