League Reconstruction 20/21 season

Budge now saying that the SPFL Board May step in if the lower league clubs snooker this.  If that happens then surely supporters of all clubs need to support the lower league clubs?

'Democracy is only fair if it goes the way I want it to'

Regardless of what happens from here on out, Hearts' reputation is forever in tatters. No longer the club representing dignity, selflessness and ultimate sacrificial bravery that they've had the aura of for the past 100+ years.

They'll now forever be known as the club that didn't get their way, so like a petulant 5 year old being told they couldn't get a toy, decided to drop to the ground in a wee tantrum, wailing 'BOOHOO, WE WANT TO STAY UP!!!, S'NOT FAIR! S'NOT FAIR!!!!' and then scream, kick and pish themselves in a humiliating public showing until they got what they want just to shut them the f**k up, or dragged home with no toy and their arse skelped.

How will their supporters ever be able to travel to an away ground again and sing 'Hearts, Hearts glorious Hearts' without cringing at themselves?

The eternal crybabies of Scottish football.

I only listened to a bit of her pish but saying that the voting structure is not fit for purpose and that the lower league cubs could vote to torpedo reconstruction then not play.  Seems to me she wants the top league to have more votes.

Right, so if you don't like the outcome of the vote then just change the voters so they get nae say in it.  Why bother with votes at all?  Why not just let her call the shots? She's clearly very good at what she does and these other members are an obvious hindrance to progress and the greater good of the game.

What an odious creature.  A match made in heaven her and Hearts right enough.

She is a genuinely poisonous individual.

Suspect we'll see pure bile from her the moment this latest attempt is voted down.

Shes a horrendous creature who's been clear throughout her time in charge that she wants to see most Scottish clubs die. Now shes got a fanbase squealing about behind her she'll get wide as f**k.

Absolute NAP their first statement after the vote fails is verging on trying to stir up attempts to kill off clubs.

After latching onto Ranger's fantasy dossier of weak pish claiming that the SPFL board were the Svengali puppetmasters of Scottish fitba', she now wants to use the SPFL board to overrule the club votes, using some ad-hoc emergency powers. Relegation is far too good for these whining chancers. Reconstruct Hearts out of the League and doon to the Juniors!

I'd be surprised if this doesn't upset every club in the SPFL.

She's lost the plot and needs help with mental isues and she needs it now.

Seriously.

Been watching and playing football for around 40 years and have seen some crap, played crap (rarely ! ) and enjoyed some successes playing sat and sun. But I have NEVER seen such a performance as from Hearts in a bid to avoid relegation. Never too good or too big to go down, get on with it.

If the argument has now become "Look, you lot can't play behind closed doors and we can", and you have Sky adding pressure to get that top league on the telly, I have a feeling that something might actually come of this reconstruction.

That is pretty much the gist of it from my reading of it.

Lots of people have described this as an attempt to stop hearts getting relegated

And it is

But, crucially, it’s not just an attempt to stop hearts getting relegated

While most of the contributions on this thread seem to be based on the assumption that 20/21 will be a normal season Budge’s proposals at least attempt a to address the reality of the situation and the problems that loom across the game.

We have Clyde fans bickering about whether being in the 3rd division of 3 is a technically demotion from being in the 3rd division of 4 when they should really be more concerned about whether there’s any functional 3rd division at all.

Surprised 14-10-10-10 has not got more of an airing recently. I think a slightly modified version of the Livingston plan would have a genuine chance of being voted through.

Scottish Premiership:

  • 14 team league
  • Split – Top 8 (40 games) and Bottom 6 (36 games)
  • Two automatically promoted from Championship
  • Two automatically relegated from Premiership
    • Promotion Playoff - 12th (Prem) vs. 3rd (Champ)

Scottish Championship:

  • 10 team league (36 games)
  • Two automatically promoted to the Premiership
  • One automatically promoted from League 1
  • One automatically relegated from Championship
    • Playoff system remains in place (9th vs 4th League 1, 2nd vs 3rd)

Scottish League 1

  • 10 team league
  • One automatically promoted to the Championship
  • One automatically promoted from League 2
  • One automatically relegated from League 1
  • Playoff system remains in place (9th vs 4th League 2, 2nd vs 3rd)

Scottish League 2

  • 10 team league
  • One automatically promoted to League 1
  • Promotion play-off between 10th League 2 and winners of HL/LL playoff.

Perhaps if you were to consult with the League 2 teams, the relegation format in League 2 could be made more ambitious than it currently is.

How does it resolve anything?

In her proposed middle group of 14 theres already clubs who both want to play behind closed doors, and who want to "hibernate".

Where did she clear up that situation?

Her plan, which has got universal criticism from lower league clubs, doesnt help anybody except Hearts, and probably ICT and Falkirk.

She does her best to hide it in that interview but her disdain for lower league clubs is absolutely off the charts.

Meanwhile, lower league clubs are in a circle around her, chanting 'One of us, one of us, one of us'

Surely if lower league clubs shouldn't be allowed a say on reconstruction, then Hearts as a lower league side, shouldn't be allowed to make a reconstruction proposal.
