League 1 & 2 down South have introduced salary caps. Might this see some players flit up here more often?

https://www.efl.com/news/2020/august/squad-salary-caps-introduced-in-league-one-and-league-two/

Good few League 1 clubs going to need to drastically slash their budget to meet the £2.5m cap:

A bizarre, pointless, move that pretty much shuts the door to the top two tiers as the gulf will now be absolutely massive.

Theres zero chance Championship sides follow suit.

Howabout Scottish Championship sides? Can we see Hearts shoehorned into an Arbroath-sized budget and a financially even playing field to lock them there for the indefinite future? Please?

Lower leagues in England are a ticking time bomb financially. Teams like Rochdale getting an average attendance of 3500 yet spending £4million on wages.

Pet desperately wagon-circling this into some sort of victory when Hearts have been absolutely fucking rinsed at every stage of the process 😂

Trouble is, nobody else is joining in.

Won the moral argument

Lost the vote for an inquiry

Lost the reconstruction vote

Poached D Utd's manager

Poached Celtic's goalie

Won 2 out of 3 at the LC hearing

Lost arbitration

Got off with a magnificently tiny fine

Didn't have to walk anywhere

We'll call it a score draw.

Hilarious and often fantasy-land stuff there.

However you forgot "being so wound up on here  got banned for using a distasteful reference to disabled people

We've had 2 games off in 3 weeks this season isn't going to finish either.

A bold claim.

Aberdeen players have been pilloried for their behaviour and football has been put on watch.

As a result, all other clubs will be having conversations - hopefully of the limited syllable type - with their players to spell out what is and what is not acceptable out of hours. No doubt some of the red tops will bring us pictures of other players out on the lash in the next few days in an attempt to whip it up more.

My alternative view to yours is that this was - almost - inevitable, and I hope that we can use this warning to ensure that the season actually does carry on to a conclusion.

Obviously if the season doesnt finish, then we cant have promotion or relegation and Hearts have to spend another season in the seasides - win/win whatever happens....................

Budge directly initiated 2.5m or more of investment into the Scottish game. The one bright spot of the past few months for Scottish football came about through Budge introducing Anderson to Doncaster, even though Doncaster ignored him at first. So competent though. She also supported and voted for reconstruction that would have benefited a number of lower league clubs and hurt none. If she'd had her way, Thistle and Stranraer would be in higher leagues. Falkirk would be in the championship. Caley would been the Premiership.

Doncaster ignored him at first because Budge was trying to leverage JA’s financial support against Hearts staying in the Premiership. It was only when it was confirmed by Budge on one of her weekly Sportsound slots that the money was now no strings attached that Doncaster was happy to meet him.

Poaching - paying £200 grand for a manager you chased out last time round and who was regularly out thought by part time managers last season.

I, on behalf of United fans, thank you for "poaching" him.

Yup the "successful businesswoman" certainly played a blinder over the last few months, Hearts fans should be looking closer to home regarding who's to blame for reconstruction failing...

Only an utter fucking idiot could consider being fined a success.

I presume they also assume being stood up is a good date, pissing themselves a good way to go to the toilet and falling down stairs a good way to exit a building.

Typical jambo fuckwit then?

That random sort was all over the Falkirk thread a week or so ago, describing at great length all about bubbles and protocols and how it was basically impossible for a premiership team to suffer an outbreak.

WHAT WERE THE CHANCES he was talking shit and failed to factor in the fundamental thickery of footballers. Oddly, he's not been back to discuss it.

People that actually think this are the same brain donors that get their information on events from red top newspapers and think the COVID-19 situation is "almost over" because the schools are going back.

They should all be sent to the moon.

Like Shankland coming up against proper defenders every week for the first time in his career. "You mean I won't score 30?"

Good to know you admit your team was so shite last season you didn't have any proper defenders.

He did after all score against Hearts in League Cup & Hibs in the Scottish Cup last season.

The lack of TV money in lower league Scottish football makes it a more even playing field.

The team who wins the Championship get over 3 times as much TV money (and every other sort of prize money) of the team who finish bottom.
