When, in the history of Scottish football, actually, British football, has a boycott ever been anything other than an absolute failure and minter for the team involved?

Listen I believe them that 10,000,000 Hearts fans will descend on Inverness.

There have been a couple of decent examples of fans boycotting their own clubs to force change, but boycotting away clubs has always been an embarrassing failure.

You're forgetting Hamilton's boycott of away grounds, which they've consistently maintained for a remarkable number of seasons now.

I mean we can quibble about this all day but it's ultimately pointless. Although I'd point out that stating yourself as a realist to justify your negativity doesn't make you a rational person.

There is one certainty though if your views permeate throughout Scottish football. You will be right.

As Jed Bartlett once said... post hoc ergo propter hoc.

You're right this 'quibble' is pointless. Not half as pointless as the neverending cycle of 'new ideas' that'll never come to pass, but yeah, still pointless.

I mean it's a nice try, but I would have perhaps gone with St Johnstone so you can throw in the farmer trope about tractors being too slow to get to the games in time and that petrol stations don't offer red diesel.

And at the final whistle there will be 10,000,000 less...

I would entertain a 16 team league, 30 games then a split with 7 further games.

Somebody needs to buy out this 4 OF game clause.

So that would, in all likelihood, be three OF league  games per season. Since neither will ever agree to 1 at home and 2 away, they could play the third game at Hampden.

Wouldnt call it reasonable but what Belgium do is...

16 team league.

initial 30 game season so H&A once each. Team bottom season is over and they'r relegated in March and don't play again that season. The team top of the league below are now promoted (That league is only 8 teams - Lets not even get into how they decide who the winner of that is as its even more convoluted).

there's then a split. Top 6. They then half the season points total and the top 6 play each other home and away again.

Bottom ten are then split into two groups of 6 with the teams from 1st to 3rd joining them from the League below. All starting with 0 points.

the winner of each bottom half group then have a playoff, the winner of that playoff plays the team finishing 4th in the top 6 for the final Europa League place. So in theory the team who finished 4th in the league below could qualify for Europe should they be successful.

CAN WE PLEASE NOT ADOPT ANYTHING LIKE THIS!!!

Apart from the bottom team being relegated in March and not playing again. That worked well this season.

Then you would get the argument that celtic used to play their games at hampden while parkhead was done up in the 90s so they will have an advantage.
Then the arguments about who gets the home dressing room.

Doesn't Hampden have a Celtic end and a Rangers end anyways? Surely they can work out which dressing room goes with which end.

Anyone who questions the idea of a boycott is Hobo vermin.

Any attempt at a picket will be met with short thrift by the local police.

They could source one of Boris' unused Water cannons.

Would give them a well needed wash too.

And yet it's DISGUSTING that Doncaster used the phrase "Absolutely delighted" yesterday when "people could loose their jobs."

Just like their big *** cousins they'll be boycotting f**k all.

I expect they'll pack away grounds to the fucking rafters (of allowed, corona virus etc) come the end of the season if they're in the running for the league.

All this boycott pish will be forgotten.

Same as (the Rangers mostly) any other group of fans.

Unless its a handy excuse to swerve a freezing February night in Arbroath, Inverness or Dumfries.
