League Reconstruction 20/21 season

Comparing a team from 12 years ago to now is irrelevant in terms of the decline he posted about, what decline?

What decline?

In 2008, we nearly qualified automatically out of a group containing the 2 previous World Cup finalists having beaten one of them home and away.

The last campaign we got utterly scudded by an average Russian team (twice) and a shite Kazakhstan team. We barely scraped past Cyprus and San Marino in 3 of those games as well.

What decline?! ffs man, you’re at it!

If we are in the same position there is no decline,I get my optimism from the year without a defeat under Strachan but  the SFA feck it and appointed McLeish.
Blaming the coaches is just an excuse, it takes all the different parts to come together to be successful.

But we are not in the same position if you compare us to other nations.

Close to home, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland have all qualified for major tournaments since we did last.

Countries like Belgium, Iceland and Finland have all done it too while we are sat at home on our scratchers.

It’s not just a case of “we never qualified then and we haven’t qualified now so we’re not worse off” - it’s a case of not keeping up with countries that were previously on a par or inferior to us now pulling away and putting us to shame.

This.

For a snide throw-in decision we would have been through.

On another topic...

Doing the rounds on Twitter that Arbitration on the verge of being wrapped up and a decision could be made as soon as tonight, and if not, tomorrow.

That would be good.

Well impressed at how they have managed to kept his so quiet tbh.

You must be looking forward to getting the Dundee derby back in the diary?

Comparing the national team to other national teams that have improved because they have qualified doesn't justify any decline.
Failure is failure whether it's against Italy or Poland, the only thing that matters is qualifying nobody will say we are in decline.
If you take sevco the perception is they have improved but where are you judging the improvement by winning nothing.

When those around you improve but you stay static, you’re trying to justify that as no decline?

Fair enough, but if other countries are capable of it then so are we. And we need to find out why we haven’t been able to (you already know my thoughts on that).

Unlikely the C3 QC will be rabbiting on to milk the 44k worth of walking funds up.
