League Reconstruction 20/21 season

I argued this point with Tom English the other day on Twitter.

He went with Ross County's worst run of the season of 2 wins in 13 to fit his agenda. 9pts from 13 games which is roughly 0.69PPG. Hearts in the same period managed 0.85PPG. Any other amount of games (6, 15, 30, etc) Ross County's PPG is better but even with this specific one that Tom picked it would take Hearts a massive 38 (a full season) more matches to catch Ross County's 6 point lead. 😂

Did he gracefully agree that he was wrong, I'm sure he would concede that maybe he was a wee bit wrong at least?

Why did they need to "rocket" up the league? Just pick up 4 or 5 points more than the teams down there. With games against them all - Ross County twice. St Mirren at home. As Hibs well know, easy to hit a late season collapse. Don't know the Partick specifics, but no doubt even easier to see a possible escape. This could be speculated to the end of time and is pointless - except to say that escape was entirely possible.

The problem with dealing in hypotheticals is that for every argument that Hearts could have picked up more points than a rival there is an equal and opposite argument that they might have picked up less points. Instead of working with what might have happened it made far more sense to look at tangible evidence of what had happened. Fortunately there is a fairly useful form guide known as the league table which instantly let us all see who was the pishest and thus most deserving of relegation.

Again you can't just look at the simplistic view of kids playing football, I think every fan wants the 11-1 vote changed because nothing ever changes because of the self interest.
There was a cash incentive with the proposal but the entrenched view will never change just like Celtic stockpiling young talent which paying kids a wage seems to be the problem.
Your what's in it for us piece of the pie attitude is also part of the problem,If you put a team in from one of the elite academies it would still get knocked back it's a feck joke.

Since you appear totally thick and unable to take a telling may I express myself plainly. For the past three years you have employed bullying tactics to try to gain the colts admission to Division 2. This failed miserably. The  latest attempt in the annual borefest resorted to naked  bribery. This too was a total failure.  A suggestion for you: if Celtic (and Rangers) are so keen to provide a suitable platform for their emerging talent to prepare them for elite first team status,  apply to join the Championship where they can gain experience playing the likes of Hearts.:lol::lol:

Which would have been wrong in 2 of the previous 3 seasons at 30 matches

RAGING Hearts have launched a court action to stop Dundee United, Raith Rovers and Cove Rangers being promoted.

SunSport can reveal the contents of individual letters sent to the Championship, League One and League Two winners this week - and it’s a desperate bid to scrap promotion.

Tynecastle chairman Ann Budge launched a legal petition at the Court of Session against the SPFL and part of her action includes blocking teams moving up and down leagues this season.

With the prospect of restructuring the leagues now dead and Budge's 14-team Premiership plan up in flames, their only option for remaining in the top flight is to keep others down.

While Budge said in a club statement on Wednesday that: “For clarity, our petition does not seek to set aside or unravel the fee payments made to clubs, nor indeed the declaration of Champions, or the nomination of clubs who will participate in European competition.”

But, curiously, she omitted to mention that while naming United, Raith and Cove as league winners and giving them the prize money involved isn’t part of her case - denying them promotion IS.

Her joint legal move with Partick Thistle - which is set to claim up to £10 million in damages if the SPFL resolution to end the season the way it was is not overturned - had already provoked fury among fellow clubs.

Budge has maintained she only wants fairness all along - but that’s not how the three clubs who were named in her writ see it now.

The trio have all been in contact with the SPFL about the matter and are waiting for legal guidance from their QC and advisers before deciding their way forward.

Nope. "4 or 5 points more than the teams down there" would put them, uh, 11th at best a 50-50 shot at dodging relegation. To dodge the drop, Hearts needs at least 6 points more than whichever two of Ross County, Accies or St Mirren is the worst. With less than one point per game on average over the season, that's a tall order.

And it wasn't as if there was an indication that Hearts were going to recover. They looked as good as down against St Mirren.  Most of their own fans pointed this out at the time.

BREAKING: Hearts’ legal move threatens to stop Dundee United, Raith Rovers and Cove Rangers getting promoted
 by Ian Roache
 June 18 2020, 4.14pm

A shock move by Hearts has placed a legal question mark over Dundee United’s promotion to the Premiership.

As part of their court action against the SPFL after they themselves were relegated to the Championship, the Tynceastle club want to stop the Tangerines, Raith Rovers and Cove Rangers all going up to their respective divisions.
Letters have been sent to United, Rovers and Cove this week in a dramatic bid to scrap promotion.

Jam Tarts owner Ann Budge has launched a legal petition at the Court of Session against the SPFL and, with the prospect of restructuring the leagues having disappeared, she believes their only option of staying in the Premiership is to keep others down.

The legal move has been made jointly with Partick Thistle and contains a claim of up to £10 million in compensation.

United, Raith and Cove have all been in contact with the SPFL about the matter and are waiting for legal guidance before deciding how to address the issue.

At least that's her mask well and truly slipped now.

Cant wait to hear how Hearts fans spin this into their fabled "our plan helps every club"

First thing I see now is whatever the Scottish version of a "motion to dismiss" is being sent by the SPL to the Court of Session. Followed by the initial stages of charges against Hearts from the SPFL and/or the SFA.

They won't do that. This is what they really wanted.

Let's be perfectly frank here, the aim was always about self preservation.

If anyone believed that a Hearts that finished 8th would have done any of this they're delusional.   It's all about self protection and that's football in this country in a nutshell.

Budge would have been as well being straight from the start instead of the path she followed.   Everyone knew what the agenda was in any case.

When it  comes down to it she is very much responsible for the situation Hearts find themselves in.

Admire your honesty, hat tip for that.
