League Reconstruction 20/21 season

Recommended Posts

It should be 14-14-16 as it stinks that Kelty and Brora  are denied the opportunity to progress!
Cove don't get promoted under this either.

Clyde, Peterhead, Forfar and Stranraer are all relegated to the bottom tier as well.

They're in the 3rd tier and they'd be in the 3rd tier in a 14-14-14 pyramid.

They'd be in exactly the same place.

They'd be in the bottom tier which isn't exactly the same place.

Clyde are in 29th place, redraw the leagues and they are in 29th place.

I think the point is that they'd be swapping fixtures against teams ranked 23rd (Raith Rovers/Partick) to 28th (Dumbarton) for fixtures against teams ranked  33rd (Cove Rangers*) to 42nd(Brechin) which if not an actual relegation is at least quite like one.

* Assuming Cove didn't get promoted as "champions"

"Relegated". It's a sh*tty restructure but they are hardly relegated.
If we finished bottom of league 1 we would be relegated and be playing the teams in league 2. Despite finishing 7th we would be playing the league 2 teams next season as part of this restructure.

In the current league 1 the prize money we can get is between £125k and £70k under the new structure it would be £77.5k to £45k. We couldn't finish any higher than 29th again next season.

We would be one relegation away from the LL rather than two.

Swings and roundabouts. You would have a far better chance of being promoted to the championship too would you not? Really cant see many negatives with 3 leagues of 14.

I'd have one professional league, a mostly professional league below that, two-up, two-down and a playoff for the third place.

10 teams each.

The rest in regional leagues.

Sound the 'Regional Leagues' moron klaxon!

That’s not fair.  Clubs should be playing teams close by. Not right that clubs like Cowdenbeath are travelling down to Annan or to Glasgow to play part time football.  They should be getting the benefit of local Derbys against Peterhead and Montrose.

If Stranraer are willing to travel to Peterhead then why not let them?

If the clubs currently in the 3rd and 4th tiers wanted regional divisions they’d probably have them. And the current set up isn’t doing the rest of us any harm.

Scottish Rugby has 2 pro teams, a 6 team semi pro league and a 48 team National league which features Berwick and Caithness in the 4th tier and has previously included Orkney.

Even Hockey has 4 national divisions (although they’ve got a 12-12-12-6 structure)

I can't tell if you're at the wind up here or not.

No it isn't, financially its a significant loss not only in prize money but in crowd size, our average crowd is up by over 300 in league 1. Why should we have to earn promotion again to play the teams we currently share a league with?

Playing each other 3 times is a joke too. You could be playing your promotion or relegation rivals twice away and only once at home.

Winners and losers in every league restructure but I honestly dont think Clyde have much to complain about here. In fact this restructure, if voted in, is pretty fair on all teams.

Bigger leagues is what most fans want so let's give it a try.

Don't have much to complain about? Did you actually bother to read what I wrote [emoji23]

It isn't fair on Cove, Clyde, Peterhead, Forfar and Stranraer and any other restructure you know what you are playing for at the start of the season.

The Klaxon in your mind. It doesn't exist outside your head.

My point makes perfect sense, and is a formula repeated all over Europe.

In what Countries?
