What I like about Darvel is that they seem to be investing in to the infrastructure of the club as well as the players. Pitch is top class, changing rooms, brought in new youth teams, new stands, floodlights etc. No doubting that currently they'll need the financial backing from the owner to make these things happen but they seem to have a long term strategy. they are also trying to engage with the community as much as possible. Lets be honest nobody likes when a club comes along and starts doing better than their own club, Fergie didn't like it when Chelsea and Man City could go and outspend them, but surely it only improves the profile of the league. Auchinleck will have a fight on their hands this year to claim the title from a good few teams but they've been there and done it year after year and showed against Kelty last season that they are a top side who could compete in league one or two.

I believe the Meadow whupped Talbots ass for a few seasons when they had a sugar daddie and the Auchenleck fans hated them for it emoji41.png

You believe wrong then. When Meadow won the league Talbot were 4th, 3rd and 3rd so hardly close challengers. Talbot did what they always did and knocked them out the Scottish Cup though. Yes there was a rivalry but Talbot were a challenging team then and hadn't become a dominant team yet so its not as if they had replaced us

Never said they replaced Talbot but they beat them a few times you always take any criticism personally emoji22.png

I am not Talbot so how can I take it personally.

Talbot won the league once in its first Twelve seasons so plenty of teams beat them.  The extra spice against Meadow was due to their manager gesturing for us to be relegated on our park and for a Meadow committee man going mental on the park at Meadow park after we had ended their "Back the Dream" Scottish Cup run.

Yes beat them 3-1 two days after beating Clydebank in Junior Cup final.
Most of the players were still drunk[emoji1787]

Correct me if I am wrong.Did Talbot not beat Pollok at Beechwood when all Pollok needed was a point to win the league?
Resulting in the Meadow winning the league.

I believe it was the sugar daddie who went mental as you described it not a committee member so your making things up to tarnish the good name of Irvine Meadow committee men & woman tut tut tut

Don't think it was the money man on the pitch that day. The club have now have a solid committee at Meadow Park who have worked hard to clear a lot of debt accrued at the end of the bankrolled years while still providing funds to build a good team on the pitch.

It wasn't the money man. It was definitely a committee man. I decided not to reply to him as he's clearly a mentalist who is just trolling despite not knowing any facts

Agreed. Said a few times that Meadow are to be admired on and off the pitch for getting out of the mess they were in.

It was one of them. Last I seen, he’s now supporting Pollok.
