West Development U20 League / Teams

Recommended Posts

Clydebank FC U20s 7 v 0 Benburb U20s.

Bankies faced Benburb who are under new management in the league last night.
5 changes were made to the starting line up from last weeks fine win.
We got off to a dream start when Connor Hamilton scored from the spot after 6 minutes. We doubled our lead after a great Martin Smith cross was converted at the back post by Ben Bradshaw. Max Clarke had an outstanding save as the visitors tried to get back into the game & after another crucial stop, we scored a 3rd when Taylor Halpin met a corner kick to head home & give us a 3 goal half time lead.

The 2nd half didn't start well & it wasn't until the 64th minute when Hammy notched his 2nd of the game. He narrowly missed out on his 3rd  when he hit the post. Bankies then scored 3 times in the last 11 minutes of the game. Adam Smith scored a replica goal from the opening league game & Coby O'Brien scored a thunderous 6th. A great Aidan Kearns pass set up Connor Hamilton for his hat trick in the 84th minute. Leeroy Shannon then saw a 40 yard effort hit the crossbar.

Adam Smith was awarded the The Lovat Arms man of the match

Bankies have a 100% record from their 3 games so far having scored 16 goals and conceded just one

Benburb 13 (I think) - 1 Rossvale

As one sided a game as you'll see in the end, although Rossvale had started off ok and it actually took a wee while for Bens to score their first. Benburb have totally changed their squad since I saw them a few weeks ago. Moved the 04s up and it has definitely paid dividends. Some brilliant football and great finishes. Rossvale consolation was not too bad either.

Clydebank U20s made it 6 wins out of 6 tonight with another excellent win this time beating Drumchapel United 7-1 at Holm Park

Bankies recovered well from going a goal down early on to go in 3-1 ahead at the break before scoring another 4 without reply in the second half

Brilliant coverage from the Bankies TV boys tonight as well - Thanks guys

Some great performances throughout the team tonight with Martin Smith winning MOTM - Connor Hamilton also scored 4 tonight

Well done to all the players and management team at the U20s - its clear Bankies future is in good hands :)

Thoroughly enjoying the friday night games, everything is so much more organised from the association, the fixture list, the social media, the facilities etc.

We’ve been getting decent crowds between 50-100. Team has started very well, looking forward to seeing them progress to the senior game when many move on next summer.

I had my worries at start of season when johnstone burgh beat us 4-1 as am sure u and the rest of coaches were but use have turned it round very quick and the 20s r brilliant 2 watch play great quick football sometimes overplaying it but thats the way they wanna play and its working for them. 1st team and 20s looking good long may it continue

If a player is sent off in an under 20’s development game on a Friday night can he play for the first team on a Saturday

Certainly not for a game the next day as it wouldn't have been processed yet.

Unless it was a very serious offence, I wouldn't imagine it would carry as it's a totally different level.

A player sent off in the development league is only suspended for development league games - they are still eligible to play for the first team.
