Rutherglen Glencairn 2020-21

Recommended Posts

Where did he go when he left use last season? Thoughts for game on sat peter? Always a hard match v glencairn but think our young squad have enough 2 winnthe match by a few goals 3-0 bankies for me

Mon the papers
Dale went to Arthurlie but when they withdrew from the season their squad was released. Dale wanted to play football and enjoyed his spell with us for the past two seasons, so it's a good move for both parties.

No predictions from me. [emoji6]

A much improved performance from us today and really harsh on us to lose the game to the softest penalty.

It's been a tough few weeks for us on the back of our cup exit, playing the two unbeaten teams at the top of the league (10 wins and a draw out of 11 games between them) in our past three games. And next week we have another title contender to play in Darvel.

We need to start taking the chances we're creating though, one goal in our last four games isn't good enough at our level.

To be fair you shouldn't be playing Premiership football as Glencairn would have been relegated last season under normal circumstances .

We'll never know that for sure as we had half of our season still to play and we'd only lost one match in 2020 up till lockdown. We were in good form at the time and were confident of staying up with the games in hand we had and the huge number of home games we had left against the teams around us. I guess we'll never know for sure. But the same could be said for the other teams who were in the relegation zone. It's a pointless debate which nobody can definitively prove they are correct on either side. But regardless of what happened last season or this one, we'll be in the Premier Division again next season as well.

Early goal last week could have changed everything in the game, when your luck is out it cannons off the bar and Clydebank score within minutes.
Yep, and the same today, brilliant save by Lundy to deny Simeon in the 2nd minute. If that goes in it could have been a very different afternoon.

Great work again for getting the games up to us fans that can't attend the now. really appreciate it.

Not getting the breaks by the looks off things plus seem to be missing alot of chances early on in games.

As for the penalty incident jeezo terrible decision.

The comments of the Troon assistant manager in both the Troon highlights package and today's Sunday Mail are all you need to make your mind up. Nobody even claimed for the penalty other than McGowan, not one of his team mates or coaching staff. It was a shocking decision.

So if another couple of players had claimed for it then the referee would be right to award it? Everyone else is focussing on the ball, your player was just stupid enough to have his arms around someone at the moment the referee turned his head.

Did you think it was a penalty for your number 8, despite the fact he didn't claim for it?
