CM.
May Man Utd v Man City Spoiler Man City v Fulham Spoiler West Brom v Man City Spoiler Man City v Sunderland Spoiler A disappointing end all in after a positive result at Old Trafford to start the month. Liverpool already had 4th wrapped up by the final game meaning the Sunderland game was just ensuring a 5th placed finish and European football at least even if it the Europa League (I'm sure the following season was the first it started as that). Here is the final table. Robinho ended up my top scorer on 12. Now for a well earned break and see what happens in the summer...
RandomGuy.
That's a gutting end to the season. Good start considering you're likely to get stronger after every window though.
CM.
End of season review This is just a little extra part I'm adding on to the end of season for anyone reading wishing to see how their side are getting on or interested in comparing what happened to real life to what happens here. Will be league tables and cup final results from the Scottish and English leagues, the Champions league and UEFA cup and league winners and relegation/promotion from league below from the main foreign leagues (I don't mind screenshotting the UK leagues and cup final results but doing that for the foreign leagues would takes ages so updates on them a little more brief). England Championship Spoiler League 1 Spoiler League 2 Spoiler Johnstone's Paint Trophy Spoiler League Cup Spoiler FA Cup Spoiler Good season for Leeds and nearly a perfect one for Chelsea had Man Utd not pipped them to the Premier League title. I wonder where Bournemouth will be in 10 years time... edit - forgot to add the bottom part of League 2 in my screenshot but 2 of 3 teams in that league had points deductions. CM.
Scotland Premier League Spoiler First Division Spoiler Second Division Spoiler Third Division Spoiler Challenge Cup () Spoiler League Cup Spoiler Scottish Cup Spoiler Some incredibly tight divisions here, 1st - 9th in the First Division were only seperated by 15 points and top - bottom in division 3 were only seperated by 20 points For some comparison, Rangers won the SPL 19 points ahead of Celtic! And also the League and Scottish cup to make it a treble.
RandomGuy.
OYF, seeing St Johnstone in the First Division has me all sorts of tempted to go back to this. Turns out you can't get it on Steam, oldest game in my library is CM07 Edited April 16, 2020 by RandomGuy.
CM.
UEFA Cup Spoiler The Man Utd goalkeeper missing the crucial penalty Champions League Spoiler I had funny thoughts about Djourous injury time goal being him being the unlikely man to finish off a fluid counter attack while Bayern were chasing an equaliser, but I watched the goals and it was a header from a corner. Germany Spoiler Champions - Bayern Munich Relegated - Bochum, Bielefeld Promoted from tier 2 - Aachen, Hansa Rostock German Cup - Hamburg France Spoiler Champions - Lyon Relegated - Grenoble Foot, Nantes, Havre Athletic Club Promoted from tier 2 - Montpellier, Ajaccio, Lens French Cup - Lyon League Cup - Nice Italy Spoiler Champions - Inter Milan Relegated - Bologna, Chievo, Cagliari Promoted from tier 2 - Parma, Mantova, Brescia Italian Cup - Juventus Spain Spoiler Champions - Real Madrid Relegated - Sporting Gijon, Valladolid, Almeria Promoted from tier 2 - Zaragoza, Castellon, Real Sociedad Spanish Cup - Real Madrid Edited April 17, 2020 by C. CM.
Didn't expect this till another year or 2 down the line but the board are expecting a top 4 finish this time round after last seasons near miss and such have offered me the following. Spoiler Very tasty, and that's not including the pending outgoings of a few players through end of contract/sale. As for the start to the new campaign... Spoiler Couldn't ask for much better from the first 2 fixtures against 2 newly promoted sides but the 3rd will be a toughie against the Champions League holders. Edited April 16, 2020 by C. CM.
SEASON 2 - 2009/2010 To begin lets have a reminder of how the real life Man City got on that year. Premier League - 5th League Cup - Semi Final - lost 4-3 on agg to Man Utd (Premier League) FA Cup - Round 5 (last 16) - lost 3-1 in replay to Stoke (Premier League) after 1-1 draw Top scorer - Carlos Tevez Player of the year - Carlos Tevez *No European involvement this season* I know the above 2 awards won't be repeated as Tevez signed a new deal to remain at Man Utd in my game August Before the new campaign started a couple more players joined. A centre back and a back up left back to Rat that I got on the cheap. Spoiler This man also returned from his loan at Everton the previous season and will be getting his opportunity in and around the first team as he has decent stats. Spoiler Europa League 4th QR 1st leg - IFK Goteburg v Man City Spoiler Premier League - Man City v Burnley Spoiler Subbed on at half time and plants a free kick into top bin with his first touch Premier League - Reading v Man City Spoiler Europa League 4th QR 2nd leg - Man City v IFK Goteburg Spoiler League Cup 3rd round draw Spoiler Solid results in the Europa League tie to take me to the group stages but I would've liked the Premier League game to go a bit more comfortably. Can't complain about the 100% record overall. First team squad (until January at least) Spoiler I tried to punt Elano as he wouldn't shut up about wanting a move but nobody took him so he can just rot until January. Will probably end up in my reserves. Thanks for your good efforts last season, but I have players who want to be here. Reserves (some recognisable names here) Spoiler Edited April 17, 2020 by C.
