Loch Doon is a body of water in Galloway.

Not to be confused with Doone Hill in East Lothian, which contrary to what you might expect, is uphill as well

There’s going to be a few ups and doons for Hearts supporters before this is finished.

Mainly doons though.

Dont know if this has been posted.. Portuguese league looks like it will get the go ahead..

https://www.thestar.com.my/sport/football/2020/05/01/portuguese-league-could-resume-on-may-30-says-prime-minister

Edit. Worth noting Portugal has only had 1007 coronavirus deaths.

Good post, have a like. The Portuguese are light  years ahead of is in dealing with this mate, I really can't see anything similar happening here.

From your link....

Portugal has reported 25,045 cases of the coronavirus and 989 deaths, a comparatively low toll backed up by one of the highest testing rates worldwide at 37,000 per million people.

The country’s health system has remained below 65% of hospital bed capacity throughout the pandemic, with nine out of 10 cases treated at home and just 1% needing intensive care

They can't stop a club signing players. That's mental

Not really

if you owe them money and they do a deal to let you defer payment till later then they can put conditions on that deal. If you break the conditions then the deals off and they can revoke the deferment.

If someone owed you money and was keeping you waiting for it then you’d probably get a bit annoyed if you saw them drive by in a new Mercedes

They haven't put conditions on businesses deferring payroll payments. All you need is a plausible reason as to why coronavirus has affected your cashflow.

In any case it would be counter productive to put restrictions on businesses being able to trade when they can re-open.

This is interesting. Maybe McLennan and Doncaster should just confess that it's like herding cats dealing with 42 clubs. You can envisage how they might feel they needed to get them focused on money in order to get a firm decision. But did they mislead their member clubs by saying "there is no alternative"?

It would be good if somebody would make public a copy of the paper circulated to the clubs before the vote.

Tom English nailing Murdoch Mclennans recent comments regarding the spfl and their loans to clubs. Maclennan really has a lot explaining to do about him continually misleading clubs over this.

I suggest that everyone reads the article which has been linked by Pet Jeden, eye opening stuff.

In what way ?

Well, he's insinuating that there has been lies about loans and that his trawling through the SPFL accounts highlighted this 'nugget' of info about advance payments and led to more potential conspiracy talk... Yet, the company he works for published this the month prior:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/52047550

He also asserts that an 'advance' could be a 'loan'.

Then there's the way it's written. Just look at the headline: 'SPFL: Accounts 'shed light' on payments to clubs' - Why use the quotation marks round shed light? Does it or doesn't it?

Genuinely dreadful.

This loan stuff is really not much of an issue - just a hobby horse

Misleading member clubs so that they can get a  vote to go in their favour, not much of an issue.

Exactly. It's given Rangers fans something to clutch onto though.

Have I got this right? You recognise that a BBC journalist is insinuating that the SPFL chairman has been telling “lies about loans”.  But your main concern is about his writing style?

Apparently Tom English is a bigot with an agenda against celtic, they really don't like anyone who doesn't toe the party line.

Twitter is quite amusing tonight.
