Forest_Fifer
Just had to buy a new PVR ( a Manhattan t3r) after my old Panasonic recorder U81'd itself to death. Of course the new one is hdmi only, which means I no longer have a spare port for my chromecast.Anyone have any recommendations for HDMI switches, am I better with a powered one rather than one powered from the cable?

Anyone have any recommendations for HDMI switches, am I better with a powered one rather than one powered from the cable? I've accumulated a few of them over the years. I wouldnt say a powered one was all that important, its just a signal passing through. I would avoid auto-switching ones, as I found they can switch when you're not expecting it. If you have 4K, make sure it supports the newer HDMI version and, more importantly, dont spend a fortune on one! The last one I bought on Amazon isnt available anymore.
