She and her father are followers of Ayr Utd so would be good if she could use us as trial for standing stadiums

How exactly is standing stadiums going to work? Not as easy as giving people set seat numbers in a stand obviously

So what are the odds on us being allowed back in grounds in time for the start of the season?

Going by recent announcements I don’t think we will have a definite answer until Friday 16th October , government normally giving a days notice to any further lockdown processes , clubs plans are ready to go on 17th , but unfortunately the decision in not down to us , we can only hope

There is absolutely no chance that the SG is going to wait until a Friday and then allow clubs to fire fans into games again the very next day.

This.

There will clearly be further detail on or before October 5th since that was the deferment yesterday. If there isn't a clear go ahead at that point we'll not have fans in for the start of the season imo. Even if we're allowed some, chances are it certainly won't initially be enough to satisfy season ticket holders at most clubs at this level anyway.

I don't think there's any real chance of crowds for the opening three Betfred games either.

That’s not the point I am making though , my point is right up until 16th October the SG have the authority to lockdown the games if there are any concerning trends nationally  or locally  ( meaning no guarantee of getting into a game before that date ) , it’s pretty obvious that she will discuss it on 5th October , hope if local lockdowns are in place not all clubs should suffer not letting fans in

The men behind the finance at clubs must be absolutely shitting themselves tbh.

I agree they no doubt will be. But surely  every club should have been planning for no fans until at least the start of 2021, regardless of the SG plans. Sufficient vaccination was never going to be before then and a second wave when outside socialisation became harder, schools and unis were back etc. was nailed on. I really hope RR have budgeted for it, but hope every other club has as well. Dangerous times if not.

I'd have thought so, yes.

This is the stage where it surely gets worrying quickly.  With the outgoings fully up and running, you wonder how long we can put up with income being on hold.

Do any clubs to you look like they're cutting back? To me the only clubs that seem to be cutting back are Morton and QoTS.

We've cut back quite a bit. Not a chance would we have let Hemmings go if there hadn't been a pandemic, for example. Whilst Jakubiak and Mullen are able replacements one would think for this level, they're not in the same ballpark as him.

We've punted loads of staff behind the scenes as well. We are being distracted by the Charlie Adam thing at the moment, but if he does sign it'll be within our new wage structure (Or as expected, financed by third parties like Peter Marr and/or Kilmac).

As for other areas, we are in desperate need of a keeper, CH and a striker which may or may not be addressed. Granted we are not known for our frugal spending at the best of times and we certainly aren't doing what Morton or QotS appear to be doing, but by our standards (And I expect the snide replies to that! I'd be disappointed if there weren't) we are cutting back quite significantly.

Eta: If our insurance doesn't come through and we are further impacted by lack of attendance I'd worry for many clubs. There's a balancing act between being competitive to keep the fans interested if they return and just totally giving up the ghost on the season in advance and likely sacrificing any season ticket money they could have expected.

For all the stick the Rovers got for having "begging bowls" out, the £100k plus raised will be vital for us. Dread to think how we would be if we didn't have that and the Bowie money.

Yep, those *checks notes* nineteen first team players signed up and ridiculous two year deals being handed out to jobbers really does suggest desperate parsimony.

If *checks notes* two players being given two year deals pushes Raith Rovers into oblivion then fair enough.

I get the feeling that you aren't buying into the hysterical (in both senses) sanctimonious exaggeration in the post you quoted.

Good.  👍
