It wasn't a loophole it was literally in the Articles of Association, themselves being mostly derived from the Model Articles in the Companies Act 2006.

Well whatever it is it's still a stupid rule

Remember that Eric Drysdale, Dundee's Secretary confirmed to Scot Gardiner and Jacqui Low that Nelm's vote had been submitted at 4.48pm. He even cursed the team in his division that had not voted.

Then Drysdale found out that his club was the culprit and was told not to resubmit the vote. And Dundee fans on here are now saying that this is ethical behaviour!

Tbf, Dundee could claim that Drysdale was out of the loop and didnt have a scoobie what was going on. Wheel out testimony from people who knew him at Raith including such marvels as "loaning out your best player to a direct rival", "Letting a good prospect f**k off to a higher league when he was under contract for less than f**k all" and most famously "Not understanding the rules around emergency loans so that an outfield player had to go in goals for a crucial tie" and really  it wouldn't take much to trash his credibility...

The whole point of it is to avoid arbitrarily short deadlines being imposed that would otherwise let an alert set of directors and shareholders to railroad through things without proper scrutiny.

Its far more sensible than letting them pluck a deadline out their arses.

If either of Alloa or ourselves were bottom right now, there would be a lot less greeting about it.

Relegating or promoting any club with a quarter of the season left is not acceptable.

However, nothing should surprise us us as sporting integrity in Scottish football died in 2012. The rules were ignored to allow a new club, without the required financial history, to join the old Third Division.

In normal circumstances you are correct.  These circumstances are anything but normal.

The fact that there was no contingency in SPFL rules for dealing with such a situation is a fault of EACH AND EVERY  member club.

Finish the season and/or restructure to ensure that no club is worse off.

My personal preference is for restructuring with 3 leagues of 14 clubs.

Thats literally the complete opposite of whats happened here emoji38.png

It’s literally not 😂

They’ve went to the fans asking for money due to “financial burden that needs to be managed carefully. Financially this is an extremely difficult time for the club. After initially being told the organisation was there to assist our club with monies” we have been told to f**k off “therefore we are formally  announcing DUFC will no longer recognise Dundee Utd Supporters as a partner going forward.”

Ah, promote two sides then, even though you're opposed to it happening for even one?

What loop was he out of?

John Nelms signed a piece of paper confirming Dundee wanted to vote no.

The loop of whether or not to send it. Fairly simple stuff.

Surely it was sent though?

Aye, but Nelms might not have wanted it sent at all.

I would prefer the current season to be finished and the new season to be delayed. The League Cup can be delayed or shortened and  The Challenge Cup can be cancelled if necessary.

I've always supported restructuring to form 3 leagues of 14. Four leagues plus the Highland and Lowland leagues is too much.

Why sign it then?

Because he might have been leaning that way. It's only a bit of paper. Could have signed about a half dozen of them if he wanted. It only gains importance once it's sent.
