So money can be dished out based on 75% of games, but relegating teams on the same basis would be "arbitrary"?

It's the lesser of evils.

Relegation is worse than losing prize money, especially the effect on the players and coaching staff.

In a nutshell the gloating Dayglos have disappeared back to their Friockheim/Letham/Padnaram dwellings, falling out with the wives and kids and muttering about Dundee relegating them again. We have discovered that the DAB’s are in some financial difficulty and have gone to the supporters club asking for dosh. The supporters club asked for the money to be a loan and they wanted a seat on the board, at which point the petrol station guy went all Donald Trump - shouting ‘I’m the PODUFC, I’m the PODUFC.
Meanwhile our great and historic club is single handedly attempting to save the integrity of Scottish football.

Some other no marks are having a pointless discussion about legal syntax which they clearly no f**k all about.
Holy shit!! Try reading Twitter!! What a hoot!! They're all turning on their own supporters federation, pinning their colours to the mast of their new overlords who have clearly stated they're in it for the money and to hell with the fans groups [emoji23] Hilarious reading [emoji23]

Thistle's lawyers disagree - https://cdn-5dd296c4f911cc1c581d2ef3.closte.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/2020.04.14-FINAL-Rev_Redacted-Joint-Opinion-PTFC-.pdf

36. The sender of the email has confirmed when it was sent, and the SPFL have confirmed it was in fact received. The Dundee Rejection Vote was therefore deemed to have been cast at 4.48pm when it was sent. In particular, it is our opinion that the Dundee Rejection Vote 1 We consider this word to be an obvious omission that a court would read in as a matter of interpretation: Mannai Investments co Ltd v Eagle Star Insurance Co Ltd [1997] AC 749. 12 had legal effect at that time, rather than when it was (later) received. In our view, neither the contractual effect of the Articles nor their content could be varied by a unilateral written notice (which we have not seen) apparently sent for and on behalf of Dundee that “any attempted vote from the club should not be considered as cast”. The subsequent conversations in terms of which it is said that the vote has not yet been cast, are inconsistent with the actual vote having been executed and having had effect when it was sent at 4.48pm on Friday 10 April.

37. The consequence of the proper construction of Art 185, in our opinion, is that it was no longer open to Dundee to seek to withdraw their vote subsequent to its dispatch. We consider our analysis to be consistent with the very purpose of including provisions such as Art 185.

38. The Written Resolution having been rejected, that is the end of the matter. If the SPFL do not accept that this is the effect of its own Articles, then, in our view, court action can be commenced to seek a declarator and interdict to that effect.

Those quoted passages are all very equivocal. I think this is what those disparaging the concept of counsel's opinion were failing to grasp earlier (amongst other things) . You do actually need to read the opinion and take account of the nuance. It's not a case of counsel saying - yeah, you're right and will win. It's rather more nuanced than that which is why supportive opinions on either side of a case can both be right (a. I think you've definitely got grounds to argue this case; b. you've certainly got arguable grounds to defend this action). Sometimes counsel will be of the view that your case is just shit and has little prospect of success. In this case you've got a chap laying down the potential arguable grounds which Partick might seek to pursue and a view as to how strong those arguments may be. None of that prejudges what would actually happen in court.

Rangers fans have resorted to finding John Nelms son on FB/Twitter.
Fucking hell.

Are we not their only hope of preventing the Sellick winning 9 in a row? What about the sons of the chairman of the 85% of clubs who voted to anoint them?

Fucking weirdo cunters if you ask me.

At your age, sorry our age, that’s probably a good strategy.

One American owner in the street trying to revolutionise the game in Scotland and share the wealth.

The other American in the street trying to fleece his own clubs fans ( probably to employ a relative - or a friends relative - in a key role on big money.)

Worrying times for one side of the road.

Puppet master or muppet - you decide.

I don’t think he’s either.  I reckon he doesn’t have a problem with United going up as long as Hearts don’t come down, he thinks it will make Dundee’s task of getting promoted next season easier.  Hiding that behind ‘sporting integrity’ is bullshit however.

The only fair way with sporting integrity would be to finish the season on the pitch. Its also the only scenario that can,t happen and its been well posted as to why.IMO there is no way anything we come up with is totally fair.Celtic,Dundee Utd and Cove have skooshed their leagues while Raith and Falkirk are too close to call.Hearts and Partick don,t deserve an automatic relegation and Brora and Kelty/Bonnyrigg deserve their shot at promotion to the leagues or the pyramid is a white elephant.Add to that the large amount of clubs with a chance at the playoffs its surprising the vote got so close to passing.Sorting this out will be entertaining.

Are Dundee fans still pretending that their vote on a single issue - ie whether to finish the league now or not, is somehow an incredible bargaining chip in securing something that the people they're negotiating with don't have the power to give them. Nelms and co appear to be trying to play 4D chess on a dartboard.
