rb123!
I say that now but if it actually came to fruition I'd probably be fizzing, realistically hoping we do a German model where all play off teams are promoted

jagsfan57
Business interruption insurance is a specific type of policy that businesses of all sizes can take out. Insurance companies will have honour their contractual obligations under the terms of the policy. If the insurance companies don't have the money, the Government will need to take action. The big question is whether the cover applies to a pandemic like the Coronavirus. The Government's actions ( e.g. travel restrictions/bans and cinema closures), will trigger claims. In some cases, The Government will have to support key businesses that lose a lot revenue as a result of its drastic measures. The businesses will be viable as going concerns but will have cash-flow problems due to the Government's policies. Putting them into administration could destroy investor confidence and cause the economy to crash.Like investor confidence isn’t already destroyed. The Ftse has dropped 26% already this year and I expect it will just keep dropping.Where does the government get the money if business is shut down ?

There won't be games played until at least September. There won't be remaining league games played or even play off's as you will be playing with a completely different squad of players that got you through the season. League placings will stand as they are right now. You're down to the seaside leagues.
101
Surely the SFA will have gone to UEFA and FIFA with a begging bowl before they made their decisions, if not the SPFL must have cash reserves or insurance should the league they administrate stop for any reason. I would imagine most clubs will need the projected gate receipts. Have the premiership clubs received extra funds from UEFA due to Rangers extra run in Europe?

I accept that fans of the smaller teams like Greenock are absolutely desperate for it to happen, but I honestly think the pandemic is more likely to bail out the Jags than relegate us. No precedent at all for finishing a season early, and good luck trying to relegate Hearts instead of Hamilton.

Think you’ll find keeping Falkirk down is far higher up the list of point-and-laugh priorities for us, hotshot. Sorry to disappoint, but whilst Partick going down would be a good laugh, you’re a distant second on this one. -
Cutty Old
Should it be too onerous to complete the season it would be an opportunity to finally give the majority of fans what they want. Rangers fans were for the last fortnight conceding that Celtic had won the Premiership. So, let's all be grown up about this and at the same time apply some common sense; Premiership: Champions: Celtic. No relegation. Championship: Top four promoted to Premiership to form a new 16-team league. No relegation. League One: Top four promoted to Championship. No relegation. League Two: Top four promoted to League One. No relegation. Four New Entrants to SPFL. Taking into account the possibility that there could be a long delay to the start of the season, a 30-match season for the top division, playing home and away against each opponent, could counteract the effects of fixture congestion. To address the fixture congestion problem in the lower leagues, adapting to a 27-match schedule, playing three times against each opponent, for at least one season, could resolve that issue. This seems to me a reasonably satisfactory way to avoid upsetting clubs, fans etc. and would be fair to everyone. The fans want a bigger top division ? Sorted Some clubs unhappy about being relegated without completing the league season ? Sorted Teams disappointed about no play-offs for promotion ? Sorted The fans and players are bored with playing teams four times ? Sorted Highland and Lowland teams desperate to join the senior set-up ? Sorted

parsforlife
Ayr fans agreeing that their club playing top flight football for the first time in a 1000 years because of the current situation instead of earning their place is the best solution. How convenient. Edited March 15, 2020 by parsforlife

Sorted Granted its a great idea but the old firm and the larger clubs in the premiership would moan about it, all they care about is themselves and not improving the Scottish game overall. Another problem could possibly Celtic fans moaning about not having 9 in a row if this season was cancelled, this is just another case of willy waving from old firm fans. Its the clubs in the championship below Dundee Utd who need help to close the gap with the premiership so this is probably the best way to go about it.
rb123!
The press association has said that at least one Premiership club is wanting the season to be declared null and void, doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out it'll be Ann Budge, article on the BBC about it. Imagine though that happened, all hell would break loose lol
