WTF are we going to watch now?

That'll be the Scottish football buggered from Monday, and on Tuesday UEFA will likely pull the plug on their competitions.

My next favourite sport is rugby, but the Pro14 is indefinitely suspended.

Next would be tennis, that's off until after Madrid, Barcelona and Rome at the earliest.

I like a bit of F1 these days, but Melbourne's cancelled, who knows if Bahrain will go ahead and Vietnam looks unlikely.

What am I going to watch? Is there another sport I could follow that might survive the zombie apocalypse, or should I watch old matches on YouTube? Genuinely feel a bit bereft without sport to follow. Are others feeling the same?

If the 500 limit sticks then most Junior football will be fine. I can see me doing a lot of self isolating on the golf course.

As long as there are games to go to then I'll go. Women's games on the Sundays will presumably continue. But there are times I can't get out the house, or there's nothing local, or there are no games on.

With the shutdown coming near the end of the football and rugby seasons I feel like I've been reading a really good book and someone's just stolen the last chapter.

There are books about football, you know. "The Damned United" is very good.

I'm sure it is but 1) I know how it ends, whereas every sport is a drama that writes itself and 2) no book has ever made me leap up in the air and yell in ecstasy or frustration. Nothing can do what live sport does.

BTW I'd be just as frustrated if someone said I couldn't read a book for 6 weeks.

You could paint a wall then watch it dry, same entertainment level.

Even the women's football is off FFS and most matches don't get a bigger crowd than you'd get for a training session. The FA are allowing women's football to continue so I can't see the thinking. You're massively more likely to catch Covid-19 in a pub that at a football game with a crowd of 50.

Maybe I'll see if I can find all the World Cup finals on YouTube or something.
