Is this weekend the last match we get to go to this season?

Both Guineas  (May)
York Dante meeting (May)
Oaks and Derby (June )
Wimbledon ( June/ July )
Open Golf ( July )
All the above sporting events have been cancelled
Does anyone actually believe that there will be the slightest chance that we will see any spectator sport before August at the earliest ?????

These are all international events that require mass movements of people, and are being called off as a precaution. I'm not sure Motherwell v Killie fits into that same category.

Don’t think race meetings at York, Newmarket and Epsom are international events

Fair enough. But I still think that some of the media reporting is being done as if the virus can't affect footballers.

The sports media seem to think that testing players will be enough.

God knows how long this will go on for but lives can't be risked for sport.

Lives are always risked for sport - both those playing and those spectating. Footballers are at risk of breaking bones, suffering concussions etc, fans have to make extra journeys by road or public transport and increase their risk of being involved in accidents, as well as the general risks of catching any disease in a large crowd. There has to always be a level of "acceptable risk".

Lower leagues being decided on a points per game basis if the clubs vote for it. Premiership still postponed to give best chance to finish the games, but will be decided on the same basis if the board agree there’s no likelihood of the matches being played.

UEFA have asked top flight leagues to keep their options open and try to get the season finished if they can. Rather than sensibly understanding that this might be a good idea in general, since we have no idea what is going to happen in the next week, let alone the next couple of months, the SPFL have decided to just batter on and rush through a decision on all the other leagues anyway.

Crackpot and shitebag decision from the SPFL if this gets voted through.

Big time.  I don't know why there's such a rush to make the decision either, things are changing week by week.

Any reason why the Premiership being treated different to the rest of the country?

UEFA have threatened to expel teams from European football if leagues aren't finished, is my guess.

Because the wee clubs are desperate for the money they will be due when the season has 'ended'. Premiership clubs want an assurance they will still be eligible for European competitions if ended now so are still in discussion with UEFA.

The prospect of the league finishing as is 'if games cannot be played' throws up the possibility of the championship being determined by Scottish Government policy.

That could be amusing.

Hope you are not suggesting that this is the equaliser in Sturgeon v Salmond?

Because no lower league team could play in Europe.

UEFA apparently meeting on 23rd April to decide what's happening with European Competitions in terms of this season, and for next season.

Top flights have been advised to wait until after that to decide on their futures, as the two might not align and youd have clubs missing out.

Here is how to resolve this.

No Winners No losers. No Champions. No Relegations No Trophies.

Premiership 2020/21 Increase to 13 teams, with Dundee United joining PL. Play 24,  Split 6/7,  Play 10/12.  13th and 12th relegated, 11th Playoffs Season, 2021/22 12 Teams.

Championship 2020/21 Increase to 14 teams with Raith Falkirk Airdrie Montrose East Fife joining Championship.  Play 26,  Split 7/7, Play 12.  1st Promoted 2nd 3rd Playoffs.  14th and 13th relegated, 12th Playoffs. Season 2021/22 14 Teams

Div1/Div2 Increase to 18 teams with Brora Kelty Bonnyrigg joining the extended Div 1. Play 34 no split. 1st Promoted, 2nd 3rd Playoffs. 17th 18th relegated, 16th Playoffs. Season 2021/22 18 Teams.

No League Cup or Tunnocks Cup 2020/21.

Free weeks here and there, not a problem.

Those clubs who have earned honours over the majority of the season already played will be losers in that instance. 13 team league bonkers idea. Clubs in bottom half playing more than top half?
With the exception of League 1, the title races are forgone conclusions. The sticking point is determining relegation, if that is avoided by league reconstruction then that would appease the fears of the clubs in relegation positions, and potentially Falkirk’s gripes however teams leading the tables should rewarded for their efforts.

Not a chance they are having an uneven league. Can you imagine the last day shenanigans that would be possible as one team sits finished and the rest cook up results like Austria and Germany in 82.

Other than completing the season I don't think there is a particularly satisfactory solution -  and completing the season would be a nonsense if players leave and loans finish early.

I still can't see traction towards restructuring- certainly not at Premiership level - self interest will come to the fore and what incentive is there for certain clubs to do it.
