Is this weekend the last match we get to go to this season?

What do you suggest happens if we can’t play football until September, or later?

You finish this season. Then reduce the games next season if needed.

In an ideal world that would be what all of us want.  But, worst case scenario, if we don’t have any football until at least September, there will be a number of clubs no longer with us, and what do you do then?

Hearts fans defending the right to stay up when the rest of the season can't be played...…...……...…...……….

...…….is this what it's like for all the grass pitch fans reading Killie, Accies, and Livi fans justifying playing on plastic pitches?

And by league rules, you boys are fucked anyway. The league can do whatever they want.

Hamilton chairman also reckons they can say the league is over now because over 75% of games have been played. Not seen this rule noted anywhere though.

That's because it's completely made up bollocks. We have to take every proclamation from a club with a vested interest with a massive pinch of salt right now. Across Scottish football there are probably only a handful of clubs who are able to be completely neutral about the whole thing - St Johnstone, Killie, Dumbarton, Clyde, Annan and Stenhousemuir are the only ones who don't realistically have any chance of a title, promotion, European places or relegation*.

*or in Rangers and Hibs' case, their rivals winning the title/getting relegated.

Well it seems UEFA have kicked the can down the road to July or so for completing league fixtures. This thread will continue.....

eat my god GIF

I think for Scotland it's simply a case of when Celtic will be crowned champions now. Absolutely no clarity on relegation /promotion which is the big problem.  As you said.. so it continues......

It does indeed appear to be utter bollocks. A bit like your fans and your owner trying to claim “sporting integrity”. Get doon.

This is all very well in theory.

However... the season was meant to end mid-may. Plenty of clubs will have players out of contract then, who, whilst not able to play for another club, would be free to leave their current club.

Is forcing clubs to play league games after the date of the play-off final fair, given they could lose key players due to expiring contracts?

Accies could lose key players at a vital time of the season through no fault of their own. I would be unhappy if this factored in to us being relegated.

It's all very well saying players could re-sign for a few weeks, but they are under no obligation to do so, and no governing body can force them to.

That doesn't make any sense tbh.

When do they think it's all going to start again?

Despite being such a robust source normally, "Superscoreboard" are overselling what has actually been agreed today. The various associations said they would try to get things done by that date, but this is subject to change. Many well-connected journalists have said this they are open to pushing back European competitions next season if necessary.

They can't just "keep their counsel" when loads of people are pushing for decisions despite it only being the middle of March and nobody having a clue what's going on. They've quite rightly delayed the Euros for a year to give more time to get things done. They need to at least try to put a date out there otherwise they'll get accused of being indecisive.

EDIT: And if Hamilton Accies are being cheapskates by only paying their staff for 11 months a year then they get everything they deserve. However, my understanding is that most full-time clubs in Scotland have players contracted into June.

Contracts (generally) run to June 30.

It's the end of the accouting year for football clubs and the (official) end of the season.

That'll be why UEFA have said June 30 - anything after that opens up a whole new minefield.

The season needs to be finished.....but there becomes a time when this becomes ridiculous, > 1 year?  But let’s say we can pick things up this time next year and play to a conclusion then we need to find something to fill the gap from when we get the green light to play again.

Step forward the the diddy cup, this could be the making of the league cup.

Everyone participates in the league stages, if we have more dates to use then play everyone twice.  The smaller teams get games against the bigger teams generating much needed revenue.  The fans will have been starved of football so the crowds will be big. If we need another round let more teams through.

The saviour of football.  Give it a new name and let Sky and BT fight over the rights.  Sponsored by Lees macaroon bars.

i see no flaws.

According to this site, your own club have the majority of contracts ending on the 31st May.

Rangers fans and employees really ought to stop putting things out in the public domain about the desperate measures they’re looking for the SFA to take. First it was all null & void the league because that is their only hope with the failures they have employed as a management team. Now one of the management team has come out to say the league standings should be taken after one home game & one away against each team in the league. I’ve no idea where that leaves Celtic/Rangers at that point but the hypocrisy follows as he states the Premier League down south is a forgone conclusion with Liverpool 20+ points clear. It’s a forgone conclusion up here despite the desperation from all at Ibrox. Rangers ruined their own season after New year. They’d do well to stay quiet and see this downtime out with no more statements/interviews use it to evaluate the uselessness of numerous members of their squad and management.
