Is this weekend the last match we get to go to this season?

Glorious opportunity for meaningful league reconstruction here: an opportunity to breathe new life into Scottish football.

Looking forward to seeing how they f**k it up.

The simplest and least unfair way to sort this is just to play the outstanding fixtures - whenever that is possible, be it July or October or next January. Then just arrange the following "season" to fit the time available. The only contentious issue then is who gets the Euro places if they have to be nominated before the outstanding fixtures are played. In which case,, wouldn't most be okay with using league placings at that point? With the proviso, of course, that a Europa place should obviously be reserved for Hearts as Scottish Cup winners because we were certainly going to hump Hibs (as usual) in the semi and then go on to get revenge against Celtic for last years travesty.

Withholding prize money for 6 or 9 months might be enough to take some teams out of the reckoning though.  I suspect some will want and will need the money when originally planned.

What is for sure is that whatever solution they come up with will upset a lot of people.

There is no easy answer and no obvious one. There certainly won’t be any decisions made in the short term; can’t see anything happening between now and early May.

All we can do is sit and... wait.

Ah glorious carefree mid table shite.  If the seasons voided can we get our season ticket cash back?  Will clubs demand bonuses and wages back for games that never happened because it’s void.  What about Europe places?  Another chance to laugh at Killie is quite tempting.  Scottish football will just follow what the rest do.  If Seria A, Bundesliga and the premier league all do the same.  We will follow.

Agreed. This is a global problem. I'd imagine FIFA will give a directive, which most individual associations will fall in line with.

Okay, so pay out the prize money in May on the basis of league positions and do a reconciliation once the fixtures are played later in the year.

Neither will 'no prize money'.

Neither will null and void.

Neither will handing over titles without completing the season.

Claiming titles that were not won sounds very Rangersy.

Cheerio 9 in a row.

Actually cups might be different in this regard.  It’s easier to void a trophy like the champions league or the scottish cup as there are no real major repercussions.  Prize money can be evenly distributed.  Rewards like European qualification or champions league qualification can be done by random draw.  A team like Rangers could actually benefit from this. They could pick up some prize money and even be placed into the champions league next season.  Like wise Hearts may find themselves in Europe

Unless the league can restart by May, which seems unlikely, I can't see this season being finished. Player contracts, prize money and the knock-on effect it'll have on future seasons makes it a non-starter IMO.

Voiding the season would be unfair, but so would relegating teams when there's still plenty of time to go. Either scenario opens up the possibility of legal challenges.

To me, the least unfair scenario is a compromise between the two. The league table is taken as final and Celtic are declared champions*, teams are given 80% of the prize money based on league position and the rest is distributed equally. No-one is relegated from any division and the top league is (temporarily or otherwise) expanded to accommodate two more teams.

This solution rewards clubs based on their current position and also protects them from the most severe consequences. It isn't ideal, but in the absence of actually being able to finish the season, I think it's the least bad option.

I'm sure it will all work out in the end.

Celtic will still pobably go on to win 10 in a row regardless.

The diddies can fight over the pennies of prize money and other minor European places.

I'll sit back and watch heads exploding.
