What happens if they ban large gatherings due to COVID-19?

Scary stats but the number of cases are much higher than the reported 5683 already due to the testing or lack of
Some expert a few days ago reckoned the estimated infections could be closer to 50/60 k

If that’s not scary enough, a further 7 days and you are just shy of 1M. And you’re right, that’s only based on reported cases so the numbers could be 10 times higher....

Many epidemiologists think we are heading for the worst outbreak in Europe because of the incompetence of PM Cummings and his lackey Johnson.

I think we are heading for the worst outbreak in Europe thanks to all the selfish p***ks holding house parties and/or wandering around out and about in public spaces over the weekend,

You were doing so well up to this point.

Wee Jeannie with her part time jobs will be in receipt of benefit to supplement her income. If she loses her part time income her Universal Credit rises.

Do you think it's fair that a part time footballer on a couple of hundred pounds a week, many on more, get 80% on top of their full time wage from other work?

The only reason they might get is it'll be easier to administer payment without any checks than means test it.

You're working on the assumption that all part time players are well paid and have full time jobs. It's not like part time footballers are lawyers or scientists and enjoy a kick about at the weekend, they're plumbers and painters who probably don't have any work at all now. They'll have built their lives around the income they have coming in, if you take part of that away it will affect them the same as "Wee Jeannie". In any case, there's a pot of money there for everyone, we don't have to choose between one or the other.

Agreed. To expect politicians, who normally I have little time for, to do anything but take the medical advice offered is unreasonable. The NHS cannot cope if this spreads quickly and frankly seeing many, many people continue as normal is the biggest problem. No one is forcing anyone to keep going out and behaving as is nothing is happening.

Yesterday morning it was sunny and 8 degrees. One of Lanarkshire's finest was doing a fantastic 'taps aff' stroll alongside the Clyde. Amazing.

It was only 15 days ago that this thread was added and here we are now officially in lockdown.

We can focus on football as much as we like but I think at this point in time all of us need to focus on our health and safety and those around us. I don’t think we will be watching football in the stands for quite some time.

Follow the rules. It’s there for you and your loved ones safety.

Stay safe everyone.....

Yes. Interestingly it appears to be the strategy here too in that once the numbers go down enough to under NHS limits they will ease restrictions and then increase again if the numbers get too high.
It’s been described a bit like turning on and off a tap.
Hard to see how football will cope under such a scenario....

Very much this unless we,re more fortunate than other countries in getting/ keeping the virus/numbers under control. Many other European Countries numbers are accelerating quicker than ours but that may be down to a number of factors.Us being weeks behind them, how they have dealt with it

Time will tell
